So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

What You Should Know About Islamic Clothing Fashion Abaya

By Eugenia Dickerson

A very loosely outlined outfit worn by Muslim ladies is a sort of Islamic clothing fashion abaya. Ladies from Muslim nations especially Asia and Middle East wear such clothing on a daily basis when they need to go out for shopping or other activities. It can be observed that in non-Muslim nations such sort of attire is becoming popular as well.

The reason why such an attire is worn is to cover your body when you go out in public. It should be a very loose fitting gown that does not make your body curves visible at all. Unfortunately, in the name of fashion, many women wear tight fitting gowns that do not look modest at all. Although, you have the right to choose any kind of style but whilst remaining modest.

The range of designs and style varies significantly therefore it depends on your personal choice what you opt for. You also have the choice to choose among different types of head coverings as well as veils. It is not a compulsory thing to wear a veil but you cannot avoid wearing a head scarf at all.

The religion of Islam advocates specific guidelines regarding men and women attires. According to Islam, women should always dress in a modest way and they should make every effort to avoid and protect themselves from the gaze of other men apart from close relatives like father, son, brother and husband. They are allowed to dress anyway they like in front of their husbands as it is said in Islam that women should display her beauty in front of her husband only. You will see many women who do not wear hijab at all but this is not an acceptable thing and there are religious sources that clearly mention the importance of covering your body that many Muslim women completely ignore.

There are some Muslim countries including Saudi Arabia where its regarded as a compulsion for women to wear abayas. Women can be fined or punished according to the law if they do not wear such an attire. Its a wrong assumption made by people that Islam is a very strict religion and suppresses women. The only thing to understand is that, this religion ask men as well as women to follow some specific guidelines whether they are regarding living or wearing clothes.

Although there are plenty of colours available but mostly women wear black colour abayas. It depends on your personal preference whether you opt for a plain and simple design or something a bit fancy. From embroidered gowns to glittering ones the variety available is just endless. The most common materials used to make this attire include silk, crepe, and other flowing materials.

Abaya is just not a costume, it is something more than that and only those individuals realize its value who are familiar with the Islamic teachings. It is not an ideal thing to display your beauty in front of strangers according to Islam and a woman is obliged to protect her beauty and should display it only in front of her husband.

It is a fact that the popularity of Islamic clothing fashion abaya is increasing day by day. Previously, it was not a common thing but now even in non-Muslim countries, Muslim women who practice their religion very seriously, wear such an attire without any hesitation at all.
