So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Be Safe And Utilize The Finest Abatement Products

By Eula Nichols

Abatement products and technologies have become a major player in the containing, removal or eradication of both airborne and water pollutants. Every year millions are spent on trying to insure a healthy environment is maintained. Whether it be small home owner to large business, measure need to be in place to ensure a good balance is achieved.

Reducing these dangerous nuisances from homes and business has proven to be a dangerous job. These hazards can be decreased by means of either containment measures or complete elimination from the area. Lead is a toxic substance and is extremely hazardous to the environment. If lead reaches rivers and lakes this could kill fish and other living organisms.

Individual protection such as face masks and respirators are some of the smaller types available on the market. Air purification systems to meet the demands of multi story sky rise buildings are one of the larger types and are usually designed before being installed. Most of the smaller types of protection are available to the general public and are relatively inexpensive.

Methods of controlling airborne lead particles include face masks for employees, air scrubbers in the factories and scrapping off the old lead based paints from walls and floors. Technologies to coat and stabilize lead paints have helped bring down the cost of re-painting entire factories. These paints were not only used in factories but in homes to. Since before 1980, lead based paints were used in everyone's home and home owners have had to bring in specialists to help in protecting their children from the lead risk.

Regulations on the use of hazardous chemicals and environmental pollutants have helped stem the impact on the environment. Although large manufactures do still produce pollutants in many forms, regulations have forced them to implement actions to reduce their carbon footprint. If regulations are not followed hefty fines can be issued and the cleanup bill can be for the company to pick up.

Any work that is to be carried out on older houses, those built pre 1980 would need to be checked by local health departments before work can be carried out. Specialized companies can also be called in to assess the building and any type of containment that is needed can be arranged. Containment procedures are especially important when it to comes to demolishing of buildings.

Molds have been making a storm of trouble for house with damp areas. Over the last couple of years the ill effects of certain molds has come to light. This has opened a new door to companies to investigate and introduce new systems to combat molds.

In severe cases the permanent enclosure or encapsulation of the affected area would be necessary. New paints that can coat and prevent exposure from lead based paints and asbestos have made a breakthrough in controlling them. Removal of these hazards is still the best chance of ensuring good health. Calling in the experts to deal with the situation is still the safer way as their abatement products are designed to deal with the threat of hazardous materials.
