So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Drinking Coffee: How This Can Benefit You

By Debrah Elliot

For those who love nothing more than that morning cup of coffee, you will probably be happy to note that drinking coffee is not only delicious, it also can be good for your health. Here are few health benefits you might receive from drinking this popular brew.

Drinking coffee guarantees you almost no calories and just a minimal hint of fat. While sugar and creamer certainly add calories and fat, a cup of black coffee will definitely not increase your daily caloric intake. Do you know that essential nutrients like riboflavin, potassium, niacin and magnesium too are found in your coffee as studies have shown?

In addition, coffee is an excellent source of antioxidants. These are molecules that hinder oxidation in our cells. While we need oxygen to breathe, oxygen also can damage our cells and antioxidants prevent this damage. Coffee contains large amounts of super-concentrated antioxidants, which can prevent a host of serious medical problems.

In order to ward off serious diseases including Type 2 diabetes, Parkinson's disease and some other types of cancer research shows that great helps are antioxidants. Evidences also show that when you drink coffee your risk to develop cirrhosis of the liver is reduced. It is estimated that about 80% of risk is lowered in terms of cirrhosis and Parkinson's disease. It is also the belief of some scientists that other types of dementia like Alzheimer's disease can be prevented or its risk lowered with regular drink of coffee.

Depression is likely reduced by drinking coffee because caffeine is after all a mood booster as studies show. Note though that excessive drinking of coffee can also be dangerous because caffeine in high amounts will be toxic thus reminding us to always enjoy everything in moderation. It should be safe that you drink about two cups of coffee daily - just about enough to make you enjoy caffeine's stimulating effects as well as the important health benefits that come with it.

A fantastic cup of coffee can best be enjoyed at Island Monarch Coffee if you happen to live in Los Angeles. Find this Culver City coffee shop around the corner from where L.A. City College is and you can have a truly fresh cup of coffee. They use gourmet coffee beans which are still green upon arriving in Los Angeles and only roasted and used in just a few days which are then ground upon a customer's order of a cup of coffee. Their offer comes wide as they have customizable espresso drinks along with smoothies and treats like bagels, cookies which are freshly baked and other snacks too.
