So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

What You May Not Know About LED Agriculture Lights But Should

By Jayne Rutledge

Lighting technology has evolved substantially over the years and many people now use LED lights in their commercial establishments, homes and various electronic devices. These lights are popular because they conserve energy and are long lasting. LED agriculture lights have a number of applications in the agricultural sector. One of them is providing plants with the light colors they need to flourish.

Grow lights for plants that are of high quality produce light spectrums such as red and blue spectrum light. These light spectrums can be adjusted according to the lighting conditions a specific kind of plant requires. LED plant lamps allow agriculturists who have invested in them to achieve higher production levels. These bulbs ensure that plants receive the almost perfect light required for them to grow and bear fruit.

The produce that comes from farms that utilize LED lighting is also appealing to consumers because it appears fresh. LED lighting also emits lower temperatures than other kinds of lighting. This significantly reduces the rate of evaporation in cultivated farmland. Since these bulbs conserve a lot of energy, farmers are able to significantly reduce crop production costs and this usually translates to higher profits.

The other entities who can benefit from using LED lamps are plant development researchers. These bulbs help plants grow faster allowing researchers to test and review their scientific theories within a short period of time. Agriculture enthusiasts can also utilize this kind of lighting to grow their own vegetables, herbs or other plants even if they do not own a large farm.

Light emitting diode lamps are mercury free and they therefore do not pollute the environment if they accidentally break. They come in the form of linear tubes, specialty lamps, spot lamps and flood lamps. This type of lighting is adjustable and this means that you can adjust it to make sure that it only casts light where it is needed.

The cost of replacing light emitting diode bulbs is also lower than that of replacing other kinds of bulbs. Conventional bulbs usually last for a period of about 30,000 hours or less while LED bulbs last 50,000 hours or more. The constant replacement of conventional bulbs is costlier than the initial installation and investment in high quality LED agriculture bulbs. The lengthy lifespan of these bulbs also significantly reduces maintenance costs.

The other benefit of using LED lighting is that it does not emit infrared or ultraviolet radiation. Commercial establishments that utilize it are able to improve the corporate image by reducing their carbon footprint. Light emitting diode bulbs do not have glass and they are therefore ideal for utilization in food processing plants where food X ray machines may not image glass as the food goes through the quality control process before being packed.

Some of the LED agriculture lights available in the market are fully sealed. This prevents dust and insects from getting into them. Sealed LED lighting is also easy to maintain. Since it runs cool, LED lighting reduces the risk of burns and fire hazards. This kind of lighting also achieves maximum brightness after it is switched on and its light blanket is uniform. LED bulbs are also more robust than the conventional bulbs containing glass filaments and pressurized gases.
