So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

NEBO Flashlights Provide Many Choices

By Jaclyn Hurley

Most people are confused when deciding which type of flashlight to purchase. They are also just as confused as to which works best and ask if they should choose the traditional incandescent bulb or one of the LED (Light Emitting Diode)models. When there is a power outage or a blown fuse, you will be glad you can reach for NEBO flashlights.

The difference is basic and not hard to understand. An incandescent light is simply a glass bulb that has been filled with an inert gas and tungsten filament. When switched on, the batteries provide electric current that heats the filament producing visible light. Now, think of LEDs as tiny light bulbs with no filament. They plug into an electrical circuit and when the diode is turned on the electrons move around producing light.

When the bulb breaks or burns out in the traditional flashlight, it has to be replaced. In contrast the LED has no glass parts so it does not break if dropped or bumped against something hard. In addition, the LED uses much less energy so batteries last longer and the life expectancy of their bulb is dramatically longer than the traditional light.

There is also a work light available on the market that is small in size but with 20 LED's on its face it provides plenty of light to get any job done. It has a hanging hook, a two hundred degree pivoting stand and a magnetic base. In addition, it also has 6 LED's on its head so it can also be used as a flashlight. A person can make repairs under the sink and in the dark at the fuse box. Any place light is needed to get a job done, it can handle it.

Everyone driving a car or truck, in a boat or Recreational Vehicle, should have a rechargeable light. These can be plugged into any 12 volt outlet to charge. The light they emit is bright, compact, and will last for six hours. Knowing you have one with you can make you feel much safer.

But what if you do not have access to any power outlets you may ask. Easy to solve with a model that has an internal rechargeable battery that you use a crank handle to recharge. There is no need for additional batteries so they save you money. These are perfect for any emergency, camping, power outage, or outside activities.

There is even one that can be also be used for self-defense. In the shape of a bat, it is easy to carry and has three lighting options including a strobe. A person can set it on high and the 200 lumens of light emitted is bright enough to cause temporary blindness if viewed directly, which will dominate an aggressors night vision.

An LED flashlight is a good choice for many reasons. It does not break if dropped, they use little energy so batteries last a lot longer. There is also a huge variety of sizes and shapes which means there is one perfect for use in your child's school bag, a purse, brief case, emergency kit, in the kitchen, or in your vehicle.
