So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Merry Christmas - Merry Christmas - Merry Christmas

The Porsche 911 Sc Is A Legend

By Gwen Lowe

Buy a sports car is a dream that every car owner has but with the pricing of new high performance or super cars it is out of most peoples reach. Another option is purchasing a used sports car, this does have its disadvantages but at the end of the day you'll be sitting in a head turn vehicle. This is where the Porsche 911 SC comes into the picture.

Ingenuity brought them into a new era of how the motors produce power. By adding a turbo to the motor, they were now able to run with the top dogs in the industry and at times even surpass them. Another aspect that made these vehicles so popular was the unique design of the body work.

Most Porsches before the SC were producing an average break horse power and other manufactures were producing nearly double that. The turbo is the breakthrough that they needed to put it the same class as the fastest sports cars of the time. This range was nearly discontinued but due to the turbo it managed to survive the chop.

Turning the key gave a bell thumping bass that vibrated all the way down the spine. Hearing the motor purring at a steady rate sends a sense of realization that this was a sports car and speed is what it was designed for. It's a pure sports car at its heart and soul and nothing is better than having the cabin fill with the sound of a flat six motor.

At this time turbo were still new to the vehicle market and for some time manufactures were not sure how to implement them. Luckily through ingenuity and patience the SC was born. The first of the Porsches with a turbo and the power increase needed to keep it in the running for top spot in the sports car class.

This was raw power fitted to four wheels and two seats to keep the driver and passenger from being left behind. This was an old school design with very little features of the modern day sports car. No anti-braking system, no power steering, no traction control, none of the modern twists that are on offer today.

This was pure machine made for driving. Feeling the road through the steering, the grown of the motor behind you it was pure driving pleasure. It has a bulletproof construction and brilliant stability even on the tightest of corners. The interior is left little to the imagination but for this time period it was one of the best.

Due to the number of sales compared to its predecessors it is not a collector's item, but that in turn gives all of the people who dreamt of owning a classic sports car an opportunity to own one at a good price. The vehicle will remain one the most iconic of the classics and will always instill a heartwarming feeling in anybody.
