So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Tips For A Affordable Bathroom Remodel

By Linda Cantrell

Both the kitchen and bathroom will bring a homeowner the most return on their investment, so they are logical choices in renovations. In the city of Houston, TX an affordable bathroom remodel is more than just possible, if a homeowner locates and mandates the proper contractor. Below are the steps listed to get the most value for less.

The first thing is to find all local contractors who specialize in this particular room. Word-of-mouth is always a good way to go, but isn't always possible. However, after finding a company that is suitable to the needs of the homeowner, it's important to get some referrals from previous clients. Some may have a list to provide their potential clients, so take advantage of them and make some phone calls.

Satisfied customers aren't necessarily open to speaking to any potential new clients of that particular contractor, and rightfully so. Instead, they may have signed a testimonial that states their satisfaction. The next step that every homeowner should take is to contact the consumer protection office. This is the office where many homeowners will make any claims against contractors, and so will provide lots of information as to whether working with them is worthwhile or not.

Dig as deep as possible, as this will ensure peace of mind. In addition to this, make sure you have the company's credentials on hand. It's crucial that the company has liability insurance, protecting employees and clients at the same time. Estimations will vary from one contractor to another.

Many clients ultimately choose the one who comes in closest to the middle, although that doesn't mean much. For example, the higher end the contractor may charge more because of reputation and the top-of-the-line at work that is delivered. Someone newer in the industry might be trying to build a reputation, doing so by coming in very low, and not necessarily because of inexperience or because of the bad reputation.

When one does the homework necessary, all the answers are there to help make that wise decision. It's important to follow certain advice to ensure that the right contractor is hired. For example, make sure that they are presentable, polite, prompt, and respectable at every meeting. As for the credentials, ensure that they are presented upon demand and don't settle for a verbal confirmation.

A remodel can be only a few days long to a few weeks long, so it's important to be comfortable with the right contractor. A good representative may be able to provide great insight with regards to plans for the project. Furthermore, he should be able to furnish information such as the duration of the project, and when it will begin. All this information should be in writing.

Great results, as mentioned above, can be easy to come by, and not have to break the bank. However, for that to happen, the homeowner must do the homework, hire a good team, and take part in creating a great plan. The client should have an idea as to what style is most suitable to the family, as well as their own personal style, while respecting the architectural design of the overall interior of the home.
