So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Best Value Furniture Consignment Shops In CT

By Essie Osborn

Connecticut is a state with a very large population. Many of those people are very concerned about finding bargains and saving money. The current economic situation has made most people very aware of not overspending on luxury items. However, when it comes to basics there is still not getting around having to buy items such as couches, chairs, tables and beds.

Over the past few years buying used has become socially acceptable. For a long time many people did not like to buy pre owned items as they were embarrassed. That has all changed and furniture consignment shops in CT are a fast growing business. They offer a host of opportunities to all members of the community. Many people are finding that they meet many like minded residents at their local store and exchange ideas about other ways to save money and help the environment.

Families who are trying to save up for a vacation or house down payment are finding their neighborhood consignment store a huge benefit. Most people stop by on a regular basis to see what is available. Building up a relationship with the staff is an excellent idea. They will then be able to call when anything new and interesting arrives.

Consigning big items can be a great way to raise some money for a new purchase. Many people get fed up with some of their furniture before it even has a chance to become worn out. They may see a great deal in the sale and decide to buy something new. Rather than throw their old stuff away they can send it to their local store to be sold.

Local shops are one of the best places to look for antiques and period pieces. It is quite amazing what can be found with a little patience and time. Getting to know the owner and staff is a great idea. They will call each client when something new or interesting comes in. It is really exciting to find a vintage dresser or antique dining table that is perfect for an older home, especially when the price is much lower than normal.

Consigning unwanted furniture items is a great way to generate a little extra cash. It is also much easier than trying to sell them through advertisements. Many people are simply too busy to spend time running adverts and meeting with potential customers. There is also the issue of moving heavy items in and out of a home. In most cases a truck or van is needed to transport bulky items such as couches or tables.

When people move house they often find it easier to get rid of most of their furniture and buy more when they arrive. Removal companies can be very expensive and at the end of the day it just may not be cost effective to bring anything more than clothes, dishes and personal possessions. Having a well stocked community consignment store is the best way to pick up some great pieces of furniture at very reasonable prices.

Getting to know the store owner is also a good idea. They are often happy to keep their eyes open for a particular piece of furniture that a client needs. This is a great service to everyone in the community and helps to build strong relationships that are important for everyone.
