So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

General Info On Best Tasting Coconut Water

By Anita Ortega

Coconut water is the liquid found in green, young coconuts, which are the fruits from coconut palm. This clear drink is considered popular in many areas of the world, especially India, Caribbean, Pacific Islands, Southeast Asia, Brazilian Coast, Africa and the tropics. These areas are where the drink can be easily found fresh, canned or bottled. There are different variations of this available today and so people might be looking for the best tasting coconut water.

Like most things, this is subjective. It will depend on the preference of a person who is consuming it. Coconuts used for drinking are typically fresh, served chilled or packaged, and available at stores and restaurants. There are even vendors who work on the streets who will sell these, cutting them open in front of customers with a machete or similar knife. The drink may be sold in plastic bottles, tetra packs or cans too. When it is bottled, it is believed to have a shelf life of around 24 months.

In more recent times, this drink has been marketed as a natural sports or energy drink because of its high mineral content and potassium. Marketers might also promote this for having low carbohydrates, calories and fat. Still, some claims attributes major health benefits to the drink that are not always supported.

Naturally, the water is known to have a nutty and sweet taste. It has easily digestible carbohydrates in the form of electrolytes and sugar. The clear liquid is found at the center of this fruit and is tapped from young, green coconuts only. This is not the same as the highly fatty coconut milk.

Generally, the drink is known for having less sodium and more potassium than traditional sports drinks. There are many manufacturers today who sell this product with added ingredients, which may make it less healthy than in its natural form. In fact, some of these drinks have more sugar than recommended and may not be healthy. This is why it is extremely important to read the labels and become familiar with manufacturers before trusting all marketing or ad campaigns.

Those who like drinks sweet might not find this to be satisfying enough. Still, this and water are known to be ideal for quenching thirst and giving the various organs the water they need. To some people, the best tasting ones are that which include extra sugar and flavors. Others may consider the best to be that which is fresh from the coconut and includes nothing but the natural water.

Every person will have his or her preference when it comes to the drink. Still, many professionals in the health field encourage people to drink this in the form that is closest to what is found in nature. This is important for reaping all benefits.

People who do not like coconuts might not prefer this drink, although there are some who say this does not have the same flavor as coconut meat. The drink may be mixed with fresh vegetable juices or diluted with water to change the flavor and make the taste more subtle. There are several options for making this drink appealing and they do not involve inclusion of sugar or chemicals, which are both hard for the body.
