So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Dallas GA Whiplash Sufferers Find Relief With Chiropractic

By Melisa Carlucci

An automobile accident can result in whiplash, among other injuries. When a collision occurs the head is often jerked forward and back abruptly, which causes this particular injury. A prominent Dallas GA Chiropractor is available to assist in alleviating the hurt caused when this happens.

The symptoms of whiplash are very obvious. They often include excruciating pain when the head is turned in any direction. Muscles are tense in the area and headaches may occur.

These effects can begin immediately, but often do not become obvious until hours or even days later. A concussion may occur at the same time. A thorough evaluation usually includes x-rays.

The benefits of chiropractic care are twofold. For one, the pain may be reduced radically. Another benefit is that flexibility is restored allowing the victim to move his or her head freely from side to side again.

The response to manual adjustments, relaxing neck muscles and a range of mild exercises has been good. Lifestyle changes may be required on a temporary basis. This may include wearing a neck brace, also temporarily.

Stretching the neck muscles is something that is accomplished by gentle exercises done in the office. Massage is used to apply pressure to knotted muscles that are immobilizing the neck. Applications of ice followed by applications of heat a few days later have been successful.

There is one exercise program that encompasses all care, from evaluation to adjustments and massage and teaching ways to avoid aggravating the pain. Gradually, the condition is improved and the hurt reduced. The individual is taught some exercises that can be done at home to advance healing.

Naturally, there is no way to predict an accident such as a car crash. There is, however, the possibility of using good posture to avoid stress on the soft tissues of the neck. Good posture can also prevent the vertebrae from being misaligned, requiring additional adjusting in the future.
