So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

How To Upgrade Your Windows With Affordable San Antonio Replacement Window Company

By Lance Thorington

During a open home tour, real estate agents normally highlight the most attractive features. Most prospective buyers immediately notice new hardwood floors or granite-covered kitchen islands, but may not actually check out the windows. If they need upgrading, a San Antonio window replacement job increases both value and appeal.

It is not difficult to tell when work may be required. Wooden frames are often plagued by dry rot, and can actually crumble. Traditional tall sash windows can be missing cords, and panes that used to slide easily might now stubbornly balk. Double panes can suffer from chronic condensation, and poor seals leak.

Faced with the choice of repair or replace, the solution may not always be crystal clear. Nearly any wooden frame window can be repaired, and this is especially advisable in legacy homes. Hundred-year old residences featuring period details would simply look wrong with modern substitutes, and would actually lose value and appeal.

An aging tract home has different needs. In most cases, replacement is a better choice. Even though repair may be possible, the original equipment was not intended to last multiple decades, and labor expenses make it impractical. Brand new equipment often reduces overall home energy consumption by as much as 20%, making it cost-effective.

New units are intended to simplify routine maintenance as well as save money, and cleanup jobs are usually easier. Double panes are better for traffic noise reduction, and they make superior insulators. New types of glass do not shatter, helping to stymie burglars while keeping children a little safer.

Hiring a trusted contractor can ensure that the job is done right the first time. It makes little sense to spend a great deal on the glass, but then skimp on the installation. An upgrade not only improves outward appearances and saves energy costs, but ultimately makes a home more valuable during resale.
