So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

General Information About Emergency Supplies

By Eric Holm

When you need to get control of your emergencies supplies storage ideas, you will want to consider first the kind of kits you are storing. Trauma and first aid kits are typically the first things that come to mind. They should come with a backpack or case to make it easier to carry.

The following tips for emergency supplies storage ideas should help you get it all under control. First let's consider your trauma kits and first aid kits. Hopefully when you purchased them they came with a case or backpack style container to hold all of the various bandages and creams and splints and other supplies. However, if you purchased your medical supplies separately, it is important that you purchase a case to hold them all in one central, easy to find location.

First aid kits can also be stored in backpacks or plastic art supply cases. Everything that is stored should be labeled and it is good to have a list of what is in the kit in a certain spot, so that it can be checked for items that need to be replenished. If you are planning a long camping trip or a vacation abroad, you might consider using a large plastic tote that has wheels to help you move it around. This tote should contain smaller containers with labels that have the first aid items stored separately from each other. Plastic bags can be used for some items, while larger items, like blankets, would need to be stored in duffel bags.

Items that protect from harsh weather conditions or dangerous elements should not be forgotten. These would include heat generating equipment, sleeping bags and tarps for shelters and lean-tos. Water and food should always be remembered, as fresh water can sometimes save a life and food rations will stave off starvation. All of these items should be stored in the same place, preferably in some kind of tote or tub that has a lid that can be lifted easily. You should be able to just reach in and find what you want. When the necessary item is not there or not labeled, it can be frustrating.

Now let's drop an emergency like a natural disaster on you and you're hunting for flashlights in the dark. This is not an ideal scenario, especially when you've spent so much time and effort planning out your emergency supplies. Take a little bit more time for planning your emergency supplies storage ideas and when it comes time to use those supplies, they'll be easy to find, readily available and you will breathe a huge sigh of relief. Being prepared, and ready for all types of emergencies, is always the best situation.
