So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Merry Christmas - Merry Christmas - Merry Christmas

Getting A New York Car Title Transfer

By Kerri Stout

Looking to sell a car or just simply buying one then there are necessary and mandatory steps to be taken. The transfer proves ownership of vehicle and titling and registration can be completed in one step. There are specific documents that will be needed for a New York car title transfer. Cost, location, restrictions and length is all topics to look into.

As a customer at a dealer principle all the title steps will be done for you. For temporary measures there is a temporary registration along with licence plates that would all be issued to you. Having information such as current insurance policy, broker, drivers licence and current ownership should there be a trade in or plate transfer.

The city gives new comers and chance to get settled in and get things transferred over. Within thirty days the paperwork must be taken care of in order for validity. In addition to other documents there must be valid New York based insurance to even get the ownership. If a vehicle is purchased outside the state and the resident lives within NY then those rule can be found at the local DMV.

Buying from a private party there are more steps involved. The buyer needs a bill of sale, title filled by seller, odometer, damage disclosure, sellers signature, NY id card, Registration title application, proof of DOB, statement of transaction and of course payment for titling. There is a full list of documents that need to be in order which with proper execution can be a simple task.

Costs are involved such as sales taxes, licence plate fees, registration fees and some other costs. The local DMV will calculate the fees. Expect about a fifty dollar charge for titling alone. You can inquire at the dealer for full cost for all these fees as its relativity the same across the board at a registered dealership.

There are plenty of regulations and rules when it comes to getting your title and getting information switched over. Family and gifting vehicles have different criteria. In case of death and other willed entitlements check the website to get all the information before going into the office for new ownership.

Duplicate title can not be obtained online however by mail by filling out an application and the cost is about a twenty dollar fee which can be paid by cheque or money order. Going in person is another option make sure to have personal identification. For safety reasons the re issuing is not done online. Can be a good option to keep a copy somewhere like a safe or with other important family documents.

Eliminating delays or other hiccups along the way is simply done by having all documentation in order before taking a visit to the local DMV. Any licenced dealer will complete all the paperwork for the buyer and usually there are cots involved, keep in mind the process is only between one to two days. Selling or buying visit the registered website to get the lists and print out all papers for full disclosure.
