So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Chicago Area Auto Repair Service Offers Brake Maintenance Tips

By Douglas Gibney

If your car has any kind of brake problem, it could be a very serious matter. If you cannot stop when needed, injury or other bad things could happen. It is of the utmost important to properly maintain your brakes and that is why your local Lincoln Park auto repair company has provided these useful brake maintenance tips.

Whenever you check under the hood, take a look at the brake master cylinder fluid level. As brake pads or shoes wear, it creates more room in the system and occasionally a small amount of additional fluid may be needed. However, if the reservoir is considerably low, you have a problem.

You may not see or smell brake fluid if there is a leak. That is why it is very important to take your vehicle to an experienced technician. He inspects and tests the brakes and you will receive an estimate for the repairs needed. No work is started unless you give the OK to proceed.

Listen to your brakes and if you hear noises, there may be cause for concern. Many cars have brake wear sensors (squealers) that provide a hissing or squealing sound once the pads become worn beyond a certain point. It does not mean they are bad. It simply means that it's time to replace them as soon as you can.

When you check out your car's lights and electrical system, push the brake pedal down. Check to see how far down it goes. The pedal should not touch the floor and there should be room to place your toe between pedal and floor. A low pedal is usually a sign of worn brakes or air in your brake lines, and this requires professional attention.

If you think something may be wrong with your brakes, do not take any chances. See your Chicago automotive service for an inspection. They have trained and experienced professionals that understand brake systems and they can perform all of the necessary repairs that you need.
