So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Why Recycled Glass For Landscaping Is Fast Becoming A Popular Choice

By Lucia Weeks

There are a lot of consumers who are eager to create attractive outdoor spaces that do not require a tremendous amount of maintenance. This is one of the many reasons why recycled glass for landscaping is quickly increasing in popularity among homeowners. In addition to being very appealing, these products are also eco-friendly.

There are certain regions in which extended periods of drought have made it impractical to maintain a natural grass lawn. To minimize the water usage, people in these areas can use native plan species as part of their landscape designs as these will fare well in the natural weather conditions and with minimal water use. These plants require limited maintenance, they help lower household water costs and the impact that people are having on the natural environment overall.

Native plants can be complemented by the addition of glass mulch. There are many options available in these products in terms of shape, color and size. There are blue rocks that people commonly use to create features that look like water in their yards. Shoppers can buy options in green, violet and brown a well. There really are countless ways to infuse these into the design plan.

There are many benefits that people can gain after having place these products atop loose soil in their outdoor areas. For instance, they can control erosion. Without grass, the wind can kick up a considerable amount of dust into the air. Mulch helps to keep the topmost layer of soil in place and this ensures that the property and all structures that are on it do not get covered in dust. Siding and stucco can be kept clean as can the air in the surrounding area.

This process is known as closing the loop. While consumers are diligent about turning their recyclable materials in, recycling alone is not enough for improving the condition of the natural environment or limiting individual impact. Once these materials have been duly repurposed by recycling companies, people must invest in the end products.

Tumbling is the name of the process that is used to create glass mulch. This is very similar to the way in which glass is gradually broken down by the waves at sea. After having been tumbled for a sufficient amount of time, these pieces will not have jagged edges but will instead be safe and smooth.

One common use for these products is to place them in decorative gardens. As a mulch that is use around plants, it helps to regulate the temperature of soils. This is perfect in places that have long periods of drought. Other consumers have created landscaping designs with these products that are much more expansive, for instance, they can create oasis or river-like features with blue options.

People love these products because they do not require a tremendous amount of ongoing maintenance. After the mulch is placed in the landscaping design, no special care will be required. Because this mulch helps to regulate the temperature of garden soils, it can even reduce the amount of plant care that is necessary. Whether designing a rooftop garden or a massive yard space, this minimizes the environmental impact while enhancing outdoor aesthetics overall.
