So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Choosing Fireplace Tiles That Energize And Beautify

By Mike Hartwick

It really is unbelievable just how much a great looking fireplace can add to the value and looks of a home. Luckily you can choose from a wide array of materials to work with; however is usually the best choice. Tile is attractive, tough, heat-resistant and reasonably priced.

When a homeowner wants to add a touch of elegance to their home, installing new tiles can help them to achieve an aesthetic appeal that's not easy to duplicate. Tile has been one of the most favored of all building materials for hundreds of years. Natural Stone and Victorian fireplace tiles rank as two of the most popular tiles on the market. Other styles such as Edwardian tiles, Mexican tiles, Art Deco, and Art Nouveau tiles are also among the most popular tiles for fireplace designs.

Sometimes homeowners are lucky enough to find the tile they really want on sale. To find affordable tile, many homeowners do a bit of price comparison before settling on a particular tile. By taking some time to look for sales on tile, a homeowner can often upgrade to a better design or a higher quality of tile. Since the surround, wall, and hearth, can be tiled with less tile than some other projects, giving a fireplace a new look is easier to afford than most people think it will be.

Stone tiles like granite, marble and slate, are extremely luxurious looking when coupled with a fireplace. Two of the most commonly sought after natural stone colors are black and brown. That's because they make a bold statement which will continue to be striking and beautiful for many years into the future. Porcelain and cement tiles can both copy the appearance of the best cuts of granite, marble or slate. They make an easy choice if you are looking to save a few dollars.

One of the best ways to design a fireplace is to choose colors and patterns that match the home furnishings while also being an expression of a homeowner's personality. Choosing tile should be done with caution. Making sure it will blend well with a room's furnishings is a must. Many homeowners that love flowers and antique patterns find that some of these designer tiles are a perfect path for the expression of their personalities. In fact, these tiles help homeowners have a chance to share their love for the beautiful tiles of an era long gone.

Whatever material or pattern you choose, when using tile, you really can't go wrong. And with so many options the only limit is your own creativity!
