So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Looking For Right Hand Drive Conversions

By Maria Ward

Many owners of US made vehicles will have the car converted after taking it to a county where they drive on the right. If you are trying to find right hand drive conversions there are a few ways that you can get the work done. It is a good idea to get as much information as possible before you have any work done and there are a few important things to be aware of before you make a final decision.

The mechanical work that is required to do a conversion is fairly complex and more involved than moving the steering wheel and pedals. Some interior and exterior parts of your vehicle will also need some adjustment to allow safe operation. Some of the major components underneath your car such as the brakes and suspension may also need modifying before the car can be driven.

The cheapest way to do a conversion is to purchase a kit from an auto parts retailer in your area or online. This is a cost effective way to convert a car and there are packages that are suitable for most cars and they come with fitting diagrams. You should be mindful that the end results when using a kit are not of the highest standard and you will have metal levers and other mechanical parts exposed and visible.

The net is an excellent place to do some research on conversions and you can order and buy your kit. There are many internet companies that can supply you with a suitable kit and it will be delivered to your home. Some of the mechanical work may require some special tools and your kit supplier will sell you these if you need them.

The better way to get conversions done is to submit the car to a professional engineering firm. There are a large number of companies who carry out this work and the end results are of a high standard. It will cost much more than a kit conversion but the work is done well and it is covered by the company guarantee.

After doing a little homework you can find businesses that will carry out the modifications to your vehicle. A lot of firms will have numbers listed in the local phone book and they will also advertise in newspapers and car magazines. The internet is a very good place to find a reliable firm and you can also speak to a technician in your neighborhood to see if they can help.

If you do the modifications work yourself, or you hire professional, you will need to get the car checked for safety. The conversion companies will give your vehicle back with all of the necessary certificates to verify that it has passed the inspections. If the car does not have certificates it can be inspected at a later date by an auto engineer and the paperwork can be issued.

After making any major alterations to a vehicle the manufacturer warranty will no longer be valid. The resale value of your car will probably be lower and it may be difficult to sell. You are also required by law to notify your car insurance company of the changes and there may be an increase in your annual premiums.
