So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Merry Christmas - Merry Christmas - Merry Christmas

The Work Of Avionic Repairs Technicians

By Kimberly Scott

Avionics is repairing and maintaining electronics in the aircraft. Avionic repairs technician is a person who is entitled with aircraft electronics alongside connection of the electrical system through wiring. They mainly deal with the connection of navigation instruments, installation of entertainment systems for passengers, radios, and autopilots, mounting of antennas and engine monitoring. Because they deal with the safety of the passengers and crew, they require a high level of work training and experience.

Avionics repair technicians check the working conditions of all electronics available in aircraft. This maintains them in their good working conditions because the on board electronic devices are not supposed to be interfered with. This is done through frequent checking, identification and solving of emergent problems by some of the avionic technicians in the helicopter.

Bench technicians are specialists in communication radios, navigation, antennas and radar, computers and autopilots. High troubleshooting skills, ability to intricate and to operate on delicate instruments are some of the requirements for avionics technician. Also, firm hands and outstanding vision contribute to good bench technicians. Microscopes or binocular magnifiers are required while working with modern circuit boards since they are composed of so many and small integrated circuits.

Avionics technicians who have long term experience and deep knowledge of commercial aircraft are known as system troubleshooters. They can know the interaction and counteraction between the system components. It is through them that line avionics can identify hard problems accurately. Troubleshooters are always on the move since there is time limit because the aircraft is always supposed to fly again after a short period.

Avionic technicians work on the items noted down in aircraft log book by the pilots at night. These items include keeping the software of the aircraft up to date, wiring repair and changing black boxes. At night they deal with those items that take long periods as far as aircraft security is not at stake.

Between hanger avionics technicians and line technicians, hanger avionic technicians enjoy time luxury. Planes can stay on hangers for a long period. The planner provides schedules that contain aircraft details and teams that work on specific periods. Often some emergencies arise in an aircraft and cause flight delays. These problems are dealt with in time by the team on an operation.

People who manufacture aircraft equipment specify their working condition including temperature and humidity. Bench technicians are supposed to operate on a hygienic, ventilated and highly aerated room where temperatures are kept cool. Systems for collecting dust and positive air pressures are found in those rooms that are not clean.

Highly delicate aircraft equipment are tested using screen rooms that can prevent interference by electromagnetic and shield the surrounding environment against strong radio transmitters. The ability to dissolve static electricity is possessed by floors and benches of the rooms where bench technicians operate.
