So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Merry Christmas - Merry Christmas - Merry Christmas

Great Reasons For Having The Model A Hotrod Frame

By Walter Bennett

Your ancestors could have bequeathed their vehicles to your family, and these could have been the family cars. Vehicles from earlier eras have history on their side, iconic but built much simpler compared to modern automobiles. The bodies of these cars were often made strong and durable, and they often come back to life as hotrods.

Many machines are still out there but many more have undergone conversion so you would likely find them in isolated backyards or shops. For aficionados finding and getting to work on the Model A hotrod frame exciting. The project with such a machine could teach you remodeling, the making of engines, car frames and lots of stuff related to a remodel.

However simple the Model A Ford chassis is, it was built to withstand a lot of stress loads and perform under the roughest conditions. The solidity of the frame and the materials used for it are legendary with hotrod enthusiasts. Taking off the body and the engine block will let them access the chassis and wheelbase for a remodel.

This needs some study, and you could do some preliminary drawings and plans with regards to dimensions, specs and the items you want to set up on the chassis. When rusted over, the first thing to do is to clean this up, and this could be easy enough if you have the right equipment. But you should focus and do the work here intensively to create what is basically a new car.

When the rust is taken out, the chassis block should be prepared for welding, which is integral to the process. Most will have some skeleton frames, and panels that are lighter, smaller, providing enough cover and protection for drivers on a race. The total mass or weight needs to be calculated, to be aerodynamic and light like airframes, which you could also study for application.

Many of the metals used for thus frame are space age, special alloys like titanium and sometimes some good aluminum facings. These need some extensive knowledge of how these could be welded together, so that maximum traction and bonding is achieved to make the entire unit work together with integrity and strength. Welding missteps will mean a much weaker vehicle.

Your mechanics and other experts could be doing the job for you. And with them, the project becomes even better, not just something made up of scrap but a real vehicle which has a paint job, some accessories, and many safety features. The engine block is actually installed first, before the body panels and skeleton for the driving cockpit.

Minimal metal usage will mean that the welding must really be well made. The strips of metals or panels used need to be welded with the kind of integrity for strength and accidental impact. The use of materials study for structural integrity will made the design and execution excellent, something to make the unit last long.

You may also strip the base down so that its mass is kept to a minimum, which is needed for the unit to perform well. Getting this to have the aerodynamic qualities needed is something that should be really help here. Taken altogether, your hotrod will become a real one after all the work you and the crew has done for this custom built vehicle.
