So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Merry Christmas - Merry Christmas - Merry Christmas

What To Do On A Marco Island Vacation

By Scott Wagner

When it comes to spots to visit in the United States, Florida is often towards the top of the list. This is for good reason, as the Sunshine State is home to many beachfront cities, including Marco Island. In fact, a Marco Island Vacation is one of the best things to do when in Florida.

Collier County is where Marco Island is located. This is just off the coast of Florida, in the southwestern area where the state meets the Gulf of Mexico. It has been around for centuries, with artifacts found locally that date back to around 500 A. D. History buffs love it, meaning it really is a destination with something for everyone.

If you are not a historian, then there is still plenty of other things to love about this gorgeous area. At the top of the list of things that people love about Marco Island is the weather. This is especially true in winter, when much of the country is blanketed in snow, Florida is enjoying sunny, breezy days and mild temperatures. That is why snow birds, or northerners who only come for the winter, flock to the area.

You will love the weather, as long as you avoid the rainy season. The rainy season is usually between June and on through October, which is also the end of hurricane season. There is a lot of rainfall in these months, though there are still many clear days. The rest of the year rarely ever sees rainfall, making it a safe bet.

The beaches are the center of mot of the tourist activities, and there are many to choose from. You can also take a boat to other islands nearby with plenty of beaches as well. In addition, you can enjoy activities on the water such as paddle boarding, sunbathing, sand castle building, jet skis and speed boats among many others.

Getting on a boat will seem like second nature by the time your vacation ends, as there are many activities to choose form involving boats. Sightseeing tours is one of them, letting you travel all the nearby islands in style. Or take a dolphin tour to see these graceful, intelligent creatures up close in their natural habitat.

You could also take a boat to Cape Romano, which has some great photo opportunities. This is especially true of the domed homes that are quite famous and fun to visit. While you are there, hit a nearby beach and go shelling. This is a great place to collect shells for crafts or to take home as a souvenir.

Another boating activity is fishing. Lots of people on the island do it to fill their fridges and freezers with food. But you can do it for sport or fun, and you do not have to have experience. Just charter a boat and they will have the equipment and everything ready for you to use.

There is so much to do that you will want to start planning your trip immediately. You may need flights, a hotel and a rental car. Book them together in a package deal to make the process easier and less expensive.
