So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Organic Beef And Pork Makes Meals More Balanced

By Anna Patterson

These days, there is a lot to say about what is good for the average person to eat. In some cases, self proclaimed experts may even claim those with a certain body type should have a special type of diet to stave off illness. Overall, healthy eating is basically getting the most nutrients possible in order to sustain a reasonable amount of energy. Animal protein, like organic beef and pork, rank very high in foods that contain necessary sustenance needed at every meal.

While this may seem surprising to some, this is due to the amount of grass this livestock consumes, in addition to minimal processing. Some say this is also what makes it a more flavorful entree, even though it is often smaller in size than most natural meats. For those who have made the switch to natural foods, many say that the slight difference in price is worth the quality.

While the cost may be slightly more, the product can go a long way. When added to balanced meals that contain at least one fresh vegetable and a starch, this can be quite filling for anyone trying to control their weight. There are many resources that can assist with how many calories have been consumed and the amount of exercise needed to burn the extra pounds.

It also helps to change preparation methods for cooking. Instead of seasoning with salt based products, try herbs with a light sprinkle of sea salt. An even better measure is to eliminate sauces and gravies entirely. If this seems impossible, then try making one from scratch instead of using a prepared product that is high in sodium.

If a person likes to add gravy or sauce to their meat, they should reconsider. Because this type of meat has no added hormones or is injected with a salt solution for a juicy texture, it can get dry when cooked under high heat. Cooking at medium heat preserves the natural flavor and allows it to cook evenly.

Outdoor cooking should be done under low flames or temperatures. One alternative would be to bake or boil meat until slightly firm and finish on the grill for smoky flavor. Anyone who is uncertain about cooking this type of meat should look at recipes or online cooking tutorials.

Another idea would be to make a sauce made from pureed vegetables. This is one way to ensure that a person is getting enough fiber in their diet. Cauliflower, broccoli, and carrots are just some of the vegetables that can be cooked down and made into a thick, creamy sauce without the use of butter or daily. After pureeing the vegetables, adding a few basic seasoning will give it enough flavor to pour on any meat.

While most natural or organic meat sold is fairly lean, it helps to take an extra step to trim any visible fat that may remain alongside. Sometimes, people like to keep it so that it will prevent meat from drying during cooking. However, it helps to remember alternatives like virgin olive oil or another type that can withstand high heat.
