So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Saving Money & The Environment With Energy Conserving Items For A House

By Gary Anderson

The energy industry is a multi-trillion industry. The top electric utility companies serve billions of people all over the world. As a result, they make billions in profits. The most valuable company on earth is in the business of mining and refining oil. In the midst of all these profits and prosperity are alarming statistics concerning energy wastage. Billions of dollars go down the drain every year because of energy wastage. People are heating and lighting their houses in a highly inefficient manner. Therefore, energy conserving items for a house should be used for heating and lighting.

It is high time that people from all over the world take power conservation seriously. That is the only way that the planet will survive. Power wastage must never be the case. It should be the exception rather than the norm. The supply of energy is limited and it is dwindling with every passing day. On the other hand, the demand is on the rise.

Even if one does not care about the fast depleting energy reserves or the fact that human caused droughts are making hydroelectric plants to generate less power, he should at least care for the state of the environment. Generating most energy sources comes with an environmental cost. To save the environment, an individual should be conscious about power efficiency.

One might be a skeptic of global warning. He might even not know the meaning of carbon footprint. However, he will at least know the state of his pocket. He will be aware of the fact that a good portion of his income usually goes towards paying electricity utility bills. This should make a person to look for ways for saving power.

People all over the world are struggling with financial constraints. That is as a result of the current recession. Most nations also have a high inflation rate. That leaves people with less money in their pockets. Expenses are rising while incomes are remaining the same. Thus, it makes a lot of sense to save power so that to save money.

Power conservation is not rocket science. One does not need to be an energy specialist educated in an Ivy League institution so that to be able to save power at the end of the day. There are simple measures that an individual can take on a daily basis. One should start small and slowly adopt more conservation measures.

Every day, millions of homeowners leave the lights on when they go out of the house. In addition, they use the most inefficient bulbs. Investing in efficient bulbs will have long haul and short term economic benefits. During the day, natural light can be used instead of artificial light. Buying a solar panel will help a great deal.

Over the last century, human beings have done a lot of harm to the environment. They have greatly industrialized their nations using dirty energy at the expense of the environment. Power wastage is at an all time high and it is not only in the residential environment. Businesses of all types are also wasting power like never before. The message of efficiency must be emphasized.
