So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

All You Need To Know About The Eco Friendly Interior Design Charlotte NC

By Larry Myers

Homes are sanctuaries. They are safe to havens. It is only natural that one makes efforts to ensure the home is safe and comfortable. Eco friendly interior design Charlotte NC transforms the home from just a place to sleep to a masterpiece of environmental consciousness. The air is purified. There is a lot of natural light. The home works to improve the health of the residents while also keeping the carbon footprint a slow as possible.

The air quality cannot just be reliant on technology. How about going for a natural alternative? Plants make for great air purifiers. Not only do they keep things fresh but also clear out volatile organic compounds. Chemical based cleaning supplies give off formaldehyde and other VOCs. Aloe Vera is very useful against that. Even the dry cleaning brought home has some traces or pollutant. A Gerbera Daisy will help clear the air of the pollutant.

Window films are essential. During winter, they help to retain heat in the home. During summer, they help keep the home cool. Basically, they are an insulation from the conditions. Using UV window films will ensure that the sun does not damage floors, rugs, and even furniture. The shades can stay open all day without a worry about sunburnt patches on the upholstery.

Sisal, wool, and organic cotton are all easy material one can get for their rugs and carpets. These do not emit VOCs into the air. They are not abrasive. Basically, they will be kind if cared for properly. The regular rugs and carpets carry with them compound that surly the air in the house. Ideally, paint should also be non-VOC. In some cases, it may have very little traces though. This s still preferable o the VOC heavy stuff one may find.

The floor can be wood or stone. Stone is not just the regular pebbles, no. It can be something fancy like marble. One can also go for laminated floors. Non-VOC paint is great but it may not be available. One may, therefore, go for wallpaper or wood panels. These options are not only environmentally conscious but also quite aesthetically appealing. There is a lot one can do with these.

Energy is a resource that requires a lot of care and extreme conservation efforts. It is expensive and high-energy usage causes a massive carbon footprint. Therefore, use LED or compact fluorescent lighting. These are long-lasting. They also use far less energy than the alternative options. To top it off, there is no toxicity involved. As an additional effort, one may install skylights. One should also keep the shades open during the day so that natural light can flood in.

Wool stuffing is wonderful to fend off dust mites. These cause allergies and incredibly harmful to human health. Anything from mattresses to pillows to carpets and beddings should have wool stuffing.

Using reclaimed wood is another excellent way. Antiques are very in and it is a form of recycling. With environmental consciousness being such a huge concern now, there are many ways for one to make their own contributions to the efforts.
