So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Why Every Person Should Consider Consuming Homegrown Produce Missouri

By Ronald Moore

The quality of food usually depends on how it is grown in the field and how it is handled before it gets into your home. Despite the warnings that have been issued by the food safety regulatory agencies, there is an increase in cases of food poisoning. It is impossible for us to know the quality of the food that we buy from the grocery stores because of the increase in the use of synthetic fertilizers and pesticides. You can take care of your health better if you choose to consume homegrown produce Missouri. The following are some of the benefits that you can enjoy if you decide to grow your own fruits and vegetables.

Consuming the vegetables and fruits that you grow in the backyard has implications on your health and that of the family. It is recommended that you should consume fresh foods if you want to stay in great shape. If you have a vegetable garden, there is a very high chance that you will get to have servings of these foods on your table every single day. You will enjoy high levels of vitamin content if you prepare those vegetables coming from your garden.

If you have a backyard garden, you will not have to dig deeper into your pocket to get groceries from the local store. You will be able to cut down on the budget for groceries by producing most of the fruits and vegetables that you consume in the garden. You do not have to visit the grocery each time that you need to consume fruits or vegetables in your home.

Backyard gardening is more friendly to the environment because it does not involve the use of pesticides and other harmful substances that can pollute it. Most of the sources of water are polluted because of the runoff of chemicals from the farms. Vehicles used in the transportation of these products to the market release carbon into the atmosphere thereby polluting the air.

The vegetables and fruits that you get directly from the garden are tastier than those from your local grocery. When you are buying these foods from the store, you cannot tell how long it has lasted on the shelf. Some of these foods take several days to move from the farms to your table. You have very limited control over the freshness of the fruits and vegetables that you get from the store. However, you can be sure of the freshness of the food that you get from the garden.

In the global marketplace, many people are concerned about the safety of the food that they consume. With your own backyard garden, you will not have to worry about the contamination that could occur when the food is on the farm, in a manufacturing plant, or in the process of transportation. You can trust that the food you get from the garden will be healthy and safe to consume.

Having your own fruits and vegetable garden will allow you to reduce food waste in your home. Most people throw away food when it gets moldy or overripe after being preserved for several weeks. You will be less likely to throw away the food if you get it from the garden.

With all the benefits listed above, there is no single reason why you should not grow your own garden in the backyard. This is one of the most rewarding experiences that will have implications on your health and that of your loved ones.
