So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Clever Cakes: The Easy Guide To Making Them

By Jenni Snook

At first glance, preparing clever cakes may look easy, but the reality is that it requires a fair bit of hard work. When you are cooking food, you are not only putting them inside the pan and stirring them, you are also cutting the food, curing the meat and peeling them. In fact, 50 percent of the entire cooking process is taken up by the preparation process.

Learning to cook and prepare clever cakes will take some time especially if you're a beginner. But you don't have to take the hard road and learn the lesson the hard way. If you want your food in the right way and in the best possible manner, just follow the advice throughout this article.

1. Memorise The Measurements To Make Clever Cakes - Tools for measurement are probably the best things to have apart from recipes when making clever cakes. In fact, they are actually the ones that will give you the desired taste. If you use them well, you will be having great tasting food every time. The measurements that you choose will greatly affect the taste as you shall soon see. Too little salt will make the food bland while too much of it will make the flavour too salty. Too much flour will make the food taste like flour.

A good balance of ingredients when making clever cakes will greatly assist you in making something the whole family can enjoy. That is why it is important to invest in good measuring tools like a set of measuring cups and spoons. These must be the standard measurements that recipes use and you need these tools to help you put the right amount of ingredients into the dish that you are cooking. Of course, you could use any teaspoon or coffee cup but chances are the measurements will not be the same. Don't forget that the taste of whatever you cook up is heavily dependant on whether you are precise with your measurements.

2. When Making Cakes, It's Clever To Follow The Time Indicated - Once all the ingredients have been measured out well, be sure to follow all the instructions in the recipe word for word. Follow the times indicated in the recipe exactly. If it says to add 2 teaspoons of something, do just that, no more and no less. You are not allowed to stop or modify a recipe, the times have been chosen for a reason and only experienced chefs can change them.

A good idea to employ if you wish to keep to the time, is to use a timer. Use the ones that you can set to alarm after a number of minutes. That way, you will be reminded of the time. If you do not have a timer, then a clock is a good alternative. If it alarms, better. If not, then you should just rely on your memory.

3. Using The Right Ingredients For Your Clever Cakes Is Important - You should never change one ingredient for another at the beginning of the process as this will only complicate the process itself and modify the end taste. Perhaps the ingredients are very similar but you will soon find out the texture and taste that results will be different. You can use the example of a sirloin and a shank which are both parts of beef. However, a shank is much thicker than a sirloin due to the fats between the meats and this will almost certainly change the flavour of the finished product.

By simply following the above instructions, you can start to make clever cakes, and then after some practice and experience, you can experiment and enjoy yourself!
