So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

What's Cooking in Kentucky

By Qandishah Brown

The blue grass state of Kentucky has become synonymous with one thing- a fast food franchise. The name alone will bring thoughts of juicy and crisp chicken waiting to be eaten by you. Who wouldn't want to have a bite off something that delicious? Surely you yourself have enjoyed this fried chicken at some time or another. Surprisingly there are other things that you will find you can eat in Kentucky.

Aside from chicken another thing that you will find in Kentucky is seafood. Though it seems unlikely for this state to produce such things you will find it here; thanks to the subtropical climate that the state has. Kentucky caviar, lobster and shrimp are some of the seafood that are readily available in supermarkets. These are packed and ready for cooking. You will find these in supermarkets or even exported in other places.

You will find that Kentucky has a lot of interesting food to offer. One of which is burgoo. This can be described as a stew of a variety of meats. Usually three or more kinds of meats are used in this dish to which vegetables are added and it is simmered down. It may sound normal but what makes this dish stand out is that it is cooked until everything is broken down. It is cooked in large quantities so it's not unusual to see folks at cookouts standing over pots of these using rakes to stir it.

There are a number of other interesting delicacies that Kentucky has to offer. Visiting one of their fairs or festivals will help you discover more. There are numerous fairs and festivals (including craft fairs) that happen throughout the year. If you think that you have something interesting to share then you should sign up.

Not only do Kentucky craft fairs and shows provide you with a chance to discover more about Kentucky food; it can also be a great way to earn some money. If you are handy with crafts or enjoy these things as well, then you ought to take advantage of the chance to make some money through your hobbies at the a Kentucky craft fair or show.
