So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Buying an Electric Griddle

By Tina Bottle

Everyone loves pancakes, burgers, or almost anything else you cook on a grill. Unfortunately, it isn't always that easy to get them done perfectly. You want golden pancakes and juicy burgers, but you have to get it cooked just right. How do you manage that?

If you want to make a golden brown pancake or a juicy burger, you have to take several things in account. One of the best ways to get it done perfectly is to use a good griddle. If you are cooking burgers, chicken, or some other type of meat, it's best to use an outdoor grill. Sometimes you can't get out there and of course you can't cook pancakes on an outdoor grill. When you are inside, you should use a griddle.

Buying a griddle may or may not seem like a daunting task to you. It all depends on how you are with shopping and in the kitchen. If you are good at both, you are often in more of a rut. If you love to cook and know all the latest technique, you want to spare no expense and get top quality.

If you are a penny pincher, you will look for the cheapest you can find. If you are both an penny pincher and a cooking fanatic, you are stuck somewhere between the best of the best and ending up with a piece of junk. Its hard to find that middle ground.

First decide if you want a plain griddle to use on your stove or an electric griddle. You can get a round griddle just like a saute pan, but it is flat with little to no edge and has more space. This is good if you don't cook large quantities. If you only make pancakes for you or you and one or two other people, a round griddle is the way to go. It doesn't take up space and is easier to clean, and yet you still get a great cooking surface.

If you have a big family that you cook for or cook for a lot of people often, a large griddle or large electric griddle will work better. You can get a large griddle that you use on your stove that is also a flat surface. This is good if you have limited counter space.

Do you need all your stovetop burners? If you are cooking several things, using an electric griddle that you put on your counter can free up lots of needed space. Take advantage of the space you have on the counter if you need several cooking surfaces.

Get the griddle that will fit your needs. Don't get a large electric griddle if you area only cooking for yourself. Think about it and get what makes the most sense.
