So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

What Fashion Careers Are Available?

By Julia Van Horne

Are you passionate about fashion? Perhaps you even make your own clothing designs, or maybe you are the person friends turn to for fashion advice. Have you considered making a career in the fashion industry? If not, you should take a moment to consider the option. It's a common myth that a fashion career is very difficult to achieve, and that it takes more than ambition and determination to succeed.

What different sorts of fashion careers are there? In many cases you would be working for a company or contract your work out to others. In other jobs, you would be running the business yourself. One thing to consider is which type of job is more your style and will work best for you. To see what kinds of job options are available, continue reading.

The career of fashion designer is probably the most highly sought fashion career. Fashion designers design clothing and fashion accessories, like handbags, and jewelry. It's normal for fashion designers to start out as hobbyists that make clothing and fashion accessories for friends, family, or themselves. However, many continue on to start selling their lines of fashions. The great thing about being a fashion designer is the different options you have for how you would like to work. You can continue making your own lines of fashions, or you can hire a manufacturer to do the work, and stick to creating the designs. You could also sell your designs online, or in local boutiques.

If selling fashion accessories or clothes is appealing to you, another career you could consider is owning a fashion store. There are many different varieties of fashion stores. Some focus on a niche, such as clothing for kids, while others have a broader range of inventory. You could carry lines by other designers, carry your own designs, or a mixture of both. You could operate as an online store, and offline store, or both.

The possibilities for a fashion career don't stop there. You could also be a fashion consultant. This is an especially good choice if you are keen to keep up with the latest in fashion trends. Fashion consultants advise clients on what to wear for any given occasion. For example, you might have a client that is not sure what is appropriate for a job interview, a date, or a wedding. If you can't stop yourself from sharing your expertise, then this could be the perfect career for you.

One of the more unique fashion careers is the job of a fashion show organizer. Every year, local boutiques and fashion designers hold thousands of fashion shows in the United States, and someone needs to organize the events. That someone could be you. As a fashion show organizer it would be your job to book the show place, hire models, design the stage, hire all needed contractors, and anything else that is needed to make the show a success.

If you want a fashion career, but do not have the skills of a designer, that is okay. You can still do plenty of different jobs in the industry. There are many jobs that you can use your skills for technology, research, or interpersonal skills. The only limit to what kind of job you can choose in fashion is your own creativity to think of a way to use your skills to work in the fashion business.
