So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Cement Mixer Advice And Tips

By Magnus Karlson

The use of cement in contruction is not a new phenomenon. The Egyptians in the 1st century were reportedly using cement and concrete in their construction of streets and sidewalks. While their technology was not as astute as what we have today, it nevetheless paved the way for what we have today. Concrete and cement are widel used today to produce structures that are very resilient. In the past, this was achieved by mixing clay with straw and other earthen material in special ovens used for construction. While ovens are there today, they are rare. Mixing of concrete and cement is today done via cement mixers. These have taken on a very different look and perform much different than their earlier counterparts. Most people equate cement mixers with the huge cement trucks with a large rotating drum. This is an accurate equation.

It is easy to confuse cement mixers with concrete mixers. While the concept is similar, they are actually quite different. Most people however refer to them interchangeably. Cement mixers utilize special technology to mix gravel, sand, water and other materials to create cement. Cement is then used to constuct the sidewalks and road paths we are familiar with.

These are very convenient when it comes to construction. In centuries past, construction was done by mixing concrete with other materials. Man did this all by himself or with the use of oxen or donkeys. This was not only dangerous, but it was slow and inefficient. The end product was also of low quality compared to what we have now.

This was because of the time element and the composition element. The cement was then packed into wheel barrows then ferried to the construction site. But cement mixers have changed all this and are a much better option. They save time and encourage efficiency because the cement can be processed and mixed at the same time while the truck is on the way to the construction site.

Cement began being part of road construction in the 1800s and all this was brought about by the motor revolution which caused many cars to be manufactured. Then in the 1920s automobiles became more widespread and so did concrete mixers.

In the 1970s, there were some concerns raised by environmentalists regarding cement mixers and there were technological modifications made in order to ensure that the cement mixers were environment. Today, the cement mixers, use safer materials, emit less toxins, are skid resistant and are also more or less weather resistant. The 18-wheeler trucks have also been modified to support cement and transportation of that cement to and fro the construction site.

95% of all the roads in the US roads are cement-constructed. This leads to a demand in cement mixer trucks. To buy one you can contact regular truck dealers. Most major car dealers and companies also stock them. Giants such as GM, Ford, Fiat, Mercedes Benz all deal in cement mixer trucks.

You can also look online. Here you can get a great variety of cement mixer trucks. Another aspect of the Internet is that you can also conduct a price comparison. EBay also sells cement trucks at auction prices if you are on a low budget.
