So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

The Different Versions Of Area Rugs

By Hilarry Benson

Area rugs are a great way to change the look of your home, especially since there are styles that can be mixed and matched for a unique look that will make any room into a cozy place for relaxing, entertaining or just enjoying family. The styles that you choose will have a big impact on the rooms that they are installed in, but these tips can help you make the perfect choice no matter what kind of decor is already in your home.

Modern

Contemporary area rugs are available in different colors. Abstract may be associated with paintings, but surprise! Abstract colors are also available in contemporary area rugs. The shapes also steer away from the traditional rectangular form. Contemporary rugs have gained a following with their sought after oval and square shapes. Geometric patterns are also a trademark of contemporary area rugs, great for drawing attention and providing a focal piece in a room.

Classic

Classic area rugs have the longevity factor - designs and shapes that have been around for centuries. Typical shape is rectangular, common material is wool and usual design is either full of intricate patterns or clean, sleek lines. There are also the floral patterns, which are famous for their airy look and relaxing hues. Country style and beach themes are favorite home designs for floral-patterned area rugs.

Traditional rugs usually have fringes at the perimeters. They may often be neglected when washing the rugs but it doesn't really take much effort in doing so. Just wash the rug in warm water and detergent and spruce the fringes with a soft brush or sponge.

Rug Pads

Rug pads are commonly seen in bathroom rugs. These secure the rug on the floor preventing slippage. A pad can actually be minimized in size to fit any rug size. A rug pad is recommended for rugs on hardwood floors, in addition to the usual bathroom tiles.

Hand-woven rugs

Hand-woven or handmade rugs is a special kind that boasts of artisanship and careful production. Rug stores, even those online carry a collection of hand-woven rugs to make any space extra special. The intricate designs and patterns make these rugs a real standout.
