So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Ergonomic Office Furniture Design And Its Numerous Benefits

By Bernard Barker

The office interior is not complete without office furniture, and the latter must be in tune with the overall office design. It should also be ergonomic in design to make sure that employees develop no physical problems after extended use of the furniture.

An ordinary employee spends a sizable part of his day at the workplace, so he faces the danger of grievous health problems if he or she has to sit in an awkward position or bend over his desk during work. Thus, it is critical to ensure that office furniture, especially office chairs are ergonomic and user friendly.

Any purchase of office chairs must be made only after ensuring a few things. Steadiness, convenient mobility and flexibility are the three features that should decide your choice of office chairs. The arm rests must give a convenient hand placement when needed and the vertical height must be adjustable according to the comfort of the occupant. The chair should allow easy movement of hands and legs such that the employee can execute his tasks without any hurdles. The most critical feature of an office chair is its back support. It should be properly padded and tilted to give the occupant a comfortable experience free of any stress on his back and spine.

Office desks come second in order of importance in office furniture. Their height should be just correct and they should have adequate space to enable the person to do both computer as well as paperwork. Small or cluttered office desks are a real agony for the employee and his body also has to make some unnatural adjustments during work that make him prone to grave health hazards at a later point of time.

The positioning of office furniture also plays an important part in the overall ergonomic setting of the work place. There should be enough free space between the cabins or cubicles so that staff and bulky consignments both get enough space for movement, without causing disturbance to the work of seated employees.

Ergonomic office furniture not only ensures good health of the employees, but also raises their efficiency and productivity at work. An ergonomic office permits an employee to properly organise and manage his work and also creates an enjoyable and stress free ambience.

Office design must always target at complete absence of any bodily discomfort inside the office, or at least lessening it to a bare minimum. The office interior must strive to create such working conditions in which employees can perform their jobs in a very efficient fashion without any health concerns, so that the company reaps the advantages of a healthy and efficient workforce.
