So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Make Sure That You Are Installing Your Child's Car Seat Precisely

By Frank Froggatt

Child car seat security is a crucial issue that many parents tend to take for granted. If you're like most people, you just believe that you can go buy a really expensive car seat and buckle it up and it'll be just fine.I'm here to tell you that that just isn't quite the case. This was one of those big wake-up calls that made me stand back and take a look at what I could do differently for my child's car seat safety.

When my son turned 12 months old, I straight away turned her car seat to face frontward. Since this is such a common practice, I didn't really suppose a whole lot about it I just did it. Because like most people I took car seat safety for granted, I wasn't really concerned about the security like I should have been.

I simply took for granted that if I could put the car seat in precisely facing the rear direction, I could easily figure out how to put it in facing the front without any problem. I didn't really think that I needed directions as I already had it done and it looked good. Truth be told I guess I should look at them just like many other people who don't take car seat security very seriously.

When I was turning a sharp corner I looked in my back mirror and I saw my twelve month old daughter leave towards the middle of the seat. Seeing this made my core freeze and I pulled the vehicle over the side of the road so I could take a closer look at installing the car seat properly. As soon as I got home I went into the house and found the instruction book so I could double check to make sure that it was installed perfectly.

All it took was one simple little error and it could've been dreadful. I shudder to suppose of what could have happened because I was just too lazy to follow the directions provided for ultimate baby car seat security. This episode inspired me to do a little more research into the subject. As most research does, and led me to some findings that I really didn't know about car seat security. The first biggie was that if at all possible the car seat needs to be installed in the middle seat. My son's car seat was hooked up in the wrong spot as it was on the back passenger side. Another thing that took me by surprise was the fact that children should always sit in the back of a car.

Another really good thing that I found out was that stores like Babies-R-Us provide programs to educate adults on how to as it should be hook up a kid's car seat. Not only do they make available the education, but they will also hook up the car seat for you if you want them to. Without a doubt this is a very good way to make sure that your kid is safe when you are driving.
