So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Determining If Your House Has Termites

By Heather Riggs

We are all at risk for termites, even though Nobody wants to have them. Termites do not discriminate; they infest any home. Some may believe a termite infestation is just irritating, but they can do more harm than you may know. Termites are important in the circle of life, but they shouldn't be invading our homes. If you do not discover them before they begin doing big harm, they can destroy your entire home.

It is rather unfortunate that homeowners aren't even aware they have termites, not until a lot of harm has been done. Having a bit of knowledge about the early signs of termites will help protect your home before the problem comes out or intensifies. Termites will do more harm to a chunk of wood in a short period of time. Thus, knowing what to look for would probably help you stop termites before they can cause too much harm.

Termite infestations normally are not discovered that easily by the naked eye. Detecting these wood eating creatures may need a little more time and a more conditioned eye. Your walls, furniture, floors & other areas of the house that is made of wood are some of the usual areas they attack. Another tip to help determine termite infestation is checking in mud holes & piles of feces.

Determining the early signs of termite infestations need checking areas where termites normally would go. Check outside, in the garden and lawn area; dead leaves, tree stumps and in the soil for mud holes. Also check if your walls have cracks or spaces, 'cause they could be a termite's entryway into your walls. You should also check window sills, basement walls, moldings & doorframes.

You should contact a professional pest control company or termite exterminator once you see these signs. If you have the proper equipment, you can even do it yourself. The main idea here is to detect the problem before serious troubles arise.
