So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

A Few Dollars Spent Will Give You Huge Value For Your Home

By Robyn Jones

Altering the interior design provides a fresh feeling to your house, but most people are troubled by the costs that they will have to bear while refurbishing. Here are a few suggestions for renovating your house without having to spend too much on the project.

Any structural changes to your house will be very expensive, and will take plenty of time. Such modifications must be avoided at all costs, with the only exception being when you are especially bothered by a particular part of the home. Alterations that don't require a huge investment or any outside assistance from an experienced professional are the ones that are better to focus on.

Your bank will love you if you make structural betterments to your home that will heighten its value. Oddly enough if you read up on what some home refurbishment investment gurus advocate some of the improvements are cheap but can add 1000's to the amount of rent you can charge if renting, plus can add to the capital value of your property as well. If you want to leverage on the increased value of your improvements then you will need to get your property revalued and then go see your financial lender with the new valuation.

The first and foremost aspect to consider is the walls. Merely by replacing the wallpaper or colouring the walls with a different colour you can achieve a total makeover of your residence. A lot of aspects are crucial while picking a different colour, which include the amount of natural light available in your home and whether there are kids who would appreciate brighter colours.

Next on the list of priority are the drapes. Again, you need to be cautious about the colours and patterns that you choose. Moreover, you should also be conscious of the fact that different fabrics allow different amount of light through. For example, a thin or transparent drape which lets in sunlight might be more suited for the drawing room, as it would make the room look bright in the daytime.

Any renovation of the interiors is incomplete without considering the furniture, as it is critical to the decor of the room. Fabric covering the furniture can be washed or changed, while the wooden parts of the furniture can be re-polished to make it appear fresh.

The last thing to be focused on is artwork. It would be advisable to buy some fine new paintings or sculptures for your rooms. The old artworks can be sold off, or can be moved around the house to bring about a change.
