So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

What Purposes Do Businesses Use Mezzanine Floor For?

By Erin Cristina Mckay

Mezzanine flooring is a great option for increasing space that your business needs without permanently raising operational costs. Around the world businesses are looking for all kinds of ways through which they can reduce costs and maximize on output from their resources. Employees are taking on multiple roles, companies are also venturing into multiple fields along with many other measures aimed at ensuring there is no wastage of resources. The concept of mezzanine flooring is similar to storied buildings only that they are constructed inside a building within a particular floor. The aim here is to make the best use of the open space usually found in buildings that have high ceilings.

Traditionally, mezzanine floors were mainly used for storage. There were all kinds of things stored there and they included office supplies and equipment, tools and parts, finished products to be collected by clients as well as other inputs. Slowly there has been a sort of evolution and mezzanine floors are currently used for a number of purposes. There are a good number of reasons as to why businesses are putting them up. Increased office space is one of the reasons for this. The executive team of the company can actually work from these offices since you can have them finished to very high standards. Another option would be to have specialty teams such as quality control using the offices. This will work especially well for teams that require minimum disturbance when working.

Security related teams can also make excellent use of mezzanine floors. It is much easier to monitor the rest of the floor from and elevated position. It makes a perfect location for controls and gadgets that are security related. In the event of having a security emergency, the team working in the mezzanine floor is less vulnerable and can easily respond to the crisis as well as get external help.

Staff welfare areas are another excellent use of mezzanine flooring. These are the non production activities that are meant to care for your staff but which you do not want taking up space on the main floor. The space could be for taking breaks and resting, games and exercise, reading area and so much more. Having such facilities on a mezzanine floor ensures that you do not loose valuable space used for operations while keeping your employees happy.

Dark rooms and design studios of printing shops as well as photo studios are also often put up on mezzanine floors. This arrangement ensures that the main floor is full accessible to clients as the shop while those working on projects are able to concentrate without disturbance. Clinics will also often have doctors working on the main floor while the lab is on a mezzanine floor. Aside from reducing costs and saving money, having these services together with the business offers amazing convenience especially when compared to the option of having multiple locations. Despite being used mainly for storage even to this day, mezzanine floors are taking up many more diverse uses in businesses.
