So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Merry Christmas - Merry Christmas - Merry Christmas

What to See in Holland With your Auto Hire

By Colin Winston Aldridge

This city has something for everybody, gorgeous architecture, leafy avenues along with a network of canals that interlace the inner city. You possibly won't want a car although within the city itself as Amsterdam has superb public transport links, which includes the fabled tram. Luckily the Netherlands has a incredibly well developed network of roads so getting around shouldn't be a dilemma. The Hague can be a very vital city by international standards as the International Court of Justice sits here as does the International Criminal Court and Europol (EU Intelligence).

Holland Vehicle Hire Tip - Even with a well developed network of roads, the Netherlands is still one of essentially the most densely populated areas inside the world so there may perhaps be some heavy traffic coming in and out of cities. It has been recently displaced by Shanghai however it continues to be the busiest port in Europe. The city is unusual in Europe in that almost 50% of the population comes from a non-Dutch heritage.

In the south of the country you can find Eindhoven which is perhaps most famous for being the home of the brothers Gerard and Anton Philips. The city is also home to the premier soccer team in the country, PSV Eindhoven who play in the Phillips Stadium. Be prepared to stop and let them out as they will assume right of way and pull out anyway. The city is one of the oldest in the country, but it is also home to many students including large numbers from abroad so it's a vibrant city with an excellent nightlife. When inside a city cycling is your best option, though a car is still a nice option for between cities. Turning north and about half way up the country near the German border you'll come to Nijmejen which is the oldest city in the country.

Holland Car Hire Tip - Don't use a radar detector in the Netherlands as it is illegal and the police have their own radar detector detectors. While here you can visit one of the many museums including the Groninger Museum, the Science Museum, the Comics Museum and the Tobacco Museum.

Holland Car Hire Tip - The drink driving laws in Holland are really strict. 5 milligrams of alcohol per milliliter of blood. Utrecht is rather considerably a student city as the largest university in the country, Utrecht University, is based here. Throughout the day however it is recommended you visit the Dom Church and Dom Tower as they are spectacular examples of Gothic architecture and also offer you fantastic views over the city.
