So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Merry Christmas - Merry Christmas - Merry Christmas

Deciding On Theater District Restaurants New York Has Everything

By Eleanor Thompson

A visit to New York is not complete without at least one Broadway or off-Broadway show. While you are making your plans and ordering your tickets is a good time to start thinking about the theater district restaurants New York abounds with. No evening of first rate entertainment is complete without food and drink and friends to enjoy them with.

Or if you are attending a matinee your choices might be different since you want a perfect afternoon rather than a perfect evening. Day or night the experience is not complete without a stop at a place where everyone can talk about how great the show was or anticipate how fabulous it's going to be. Depending on your schedule you will need to choose a pre-show gathering place or a late-night-supper place or both.

Your choice of the ideal eating and drinking place will also depend on how many and who are in your party. You might require a full bar or perhaps your theater buddies will be content with beer and wine. Or maybe your party prefers an establishment that does not serve any alcohol.

The most obvious place to scout for before and after-show eats is Times Square. It's probably the easiest place in the world to find and there is plenty of variety. However this is not the best place for unique cuisine.

Although there are a few unique eating establishments in Times Square most of what you will find there are 'safe' places for people who don't like to leave their culinary comfort zone. These are franchises and chains such as you would find in most American cities and many foreign countries. If there are children in your party who won't eat anything but McDonald's, Times Square is the place for you.

There are a few original dining venues mixed in among Times Square chains including an elegant pizzeria in what used to be a church. There's a unique barbecue place and several one-of-a-kind Asian establishments. Do some research in advance. Make sure the cafe or supper club or boit of your choice is open late if you plan to eat after the show.
