So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Merry Christmas - Merry Christmas - Merry Christmas

The Toyota Prius: Absolutely The Hybrid Car For Now And The Next Decade

By George Trunyan

Toyota has been a global innovator in auto manufacturing for a long time. Toyota continues to reign in the auto world as they introduced their hybrid vehicles. The Toyota Prius established the standard for hybrids and continues to progress while many other corporations have yet to produce their own version. The affordable price and superb fuel economy made the Prius a very famous car. The Prius additionally had a great deal of appeal as a result of excellent tailpipe emissions. Hybrid automobiles use a combination of electric motor and internal combustion engine that's powered by gas. This design is what allows this hybrid to get lower emissions than regular cars, along with a much higher fuel economy.

Toyota built their reputation on reliability and continues to do so with the Prius. The hybrid motors by Toyota continue to be a good value despite the fact that they are used. There were once concerns for the hybrid car's longevity but to date, it's been proven durable. A potential downside is the cost of repairs can be high in the long term due to the unique engine. The Prius has not undergone any major design alterations as it continues to be a four-door hatchback that sits five people.

The Prius' powertrain comprises a 1.8 liter gas motor that generates 98 horsepower and 105 pound-feet of torque. The gas motor is being aided by two electric motors together with a variable transmission. At greatest acceleration, the full power is generated from both the gas-powered motor and the two electric motors. The Prius is able to increase fuel economy in stop and go traffic by using battery power only. Braking typically loses energy, nevertheless the wasted heat is converted into electricity, which charges the battery pack.

On the highway, the new Prius has better pick-up compared to earlier models, but still lags from traffic stomps. The Prius bettered its already remarkable fuel economy to about 50 miles per gallon. The Prius' other modifications occurred in the interior, which boasts a more standard center control stack. You will find a system display that is next to the digital speedometer and is a bit high on the dash. The basic music system and climate adjustments are no longer touchscreen but regular physical buttons. Tall people should have it a touch easier using a more adjustable seat and a telescoping steering wheel. The Prius has an appeal that goes beyond fuel-efficiency, and the hatchback style provides lots of room for plenty of cargo.

The new Prius continues to deliver exceptional fuel economy and versatility while it never stops looking to make improvements. It is now much easier to changeover from a traditional car, because it is a more normal car to drive. There are alternative hybrids that are worth looking at, such as the less expensive, Honda Insight, but the Toyota Prius is still the standard.
