Have you been meaning to start or finish a high school scrapbook? If you have, there's a fair chance you have run across one of the many problems that plague scrappers when undertaking one of those.
The great news is it doesn't have to be difficult to overcome these issues and complete your album!
I have listed the most typical issues scrappers encounter when putting together their school scrapbook :
I am not sure where to start!
I hear this a lot and its straightforward to understand why. School was a big part of your childhood. Probabilities are many of your present pals today were made in school. And with it spanning over a number of years, there are a LOT of memories you are going to need to capture in the one book.
I find its easier to split the book up into three sections - the years when you started, your middle school years and then your last years - finishing with your graduation!
This makes it a natural progression that is easily followed and organise.
I have thrown out all my old school stuff!
This might appear like a real issue at the start , but trust me it isn't as big as it appears.
There are a few easy, and fast things you can do to get your hands on some of your old school material.
First most education facilities have copies of their year level photographs. A decent number of these have digital/scanned in copies. You ought to be able to get in touch with your old school and get copies of these - there might be a tiny fee for this.
Get onto the Net - if you've got a Facebook account, you should easily be able to track down some of your former school friends. Get in contact with them and ask if they have any of the old school stuff they don't want or use any more. I was able to get some neat stuff this way.
Ultimately, go back to your old school. Tell them what you are doing and ask them if there are any materials they can part with. Old diaries, college newsletters and even a detention forms can actually add some real flavour to your next school scrapbook.
That is all for this time, remember keep an open mind when making your school scrapbook and you should be able to overcome any problem!
Keep an eye open for part two!
