So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Donate Your Vehicle: A Great Way To Give And To Receive

By Mike Francesco

Was there ever a moment where you wished to dump a car and not sure how to do it? Many people today are finding it easy to donate their automobiles. Whenever you donate your automobile to charity, you will get a nice tax break. Subsequently, the charity will sell your vehicle and use the earnings for their cause. Basically, some charities maintain their own used car lots much like the Red Cross. Quite a few sell the cars in raffles, or auction them to the top bidder, or just rely on them in doing the work of the charity.

The charities essentially have their unique ways on how the cars must be distributed. They evaluate the vehicles they receive to determine exactly where they should go. Here is a straightforward example of just what a charity could carry out with a recently donated truck or car. There may be a charity that is linked to several programs, like assisting people find jobs, provide food for the homeless or operating an educational fund. They will check the donated vehicle to see if it operates well or not. If it functions well, they may use the car to deliver food or leased to someone who is starting their life over.

A lot of charities fund their work via donations so the process to donate vehicles was made easy to do. Together with their donation forms, institutions also have IRS forms also. In order for the donor to be able to receive a tax deduction, they need documentation from the charity. Depending on precisely how the car was used, if it wasn't sold, there must be a tax voucher, proclaiming what the car's worth is. This worth comes from the fair market price in blue book.

As you file your tax, to get the deduction, you need all documentation that details the transaction from the charity. Essentially it has to express the estimated worth of the vehicle and that you did not get any cash or service in exchange for the vehicle. You must receive the documentation within thirty days of your donation or you will not receive the deduction. It seems tedious to pass through the process of donating a car but it is much more tricky to try to sell the car yourself.

The beauty of donating your car or truck is that you will be able to help someone and get something in return. It will not only meet you financially but it may also make you feel good inside. As it is often such a challenge for charities to raise money, you should do your part and give them your used vehicle. Whenever possible, at the time you donate your vehicle, do it in person to enable them to save on the towing fees.
