So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Car Driving Tips To Help The Environment

By Carlotta Genier

If you are an automobile driver and also a person that cares about the environment, this can create a dilemma when it comes to following your beliefs as well as needing to travel in your day to day life. When we must function in this community, for many of us a car of some kind is essential. Having children will make it a bigger concern if you don't have a car given that you need to take them to school or extra curricular activities. Nevertheless, as everyone has become more conscious of the need to cut down emissions, it has become easier to find options to protect the environment.

The first step you are able to take in becoming more environment friendly on the road is your choice of car and in recent years the options open to you have increased significantly. There are pure electric cars designed to produce virtually no emissions but have the problem of how far they can travel before they need recharging. If electric cars are not practical for your situation, you could get a hybrid car which uses electricity but also uses gas for extra power and distance. You will find that driving a hybrid will save money on gas plus reduced gas emissions.

If hybrid cars aren't all that attractive to you, you could get a normal car that offers good fuel consumption and emissions. The final decision you make may depend on the type of journeys you generally do but you can certainly find models that are both efficient and economical. It is also crucial that you keep your car in good condition and serviced regularly as this will also make a difference and even under inflated tires can have an impact on fuel consumption.

Your driving habits can also effect the environment like over-acceleration would lead to using up more fuel than steady driving. When you go on a long drive, you want to carefully plan the trip so that you won't squander gas by taking a longer route or getting lost. Additionally it is best to not store all sorts of things in your car given that adding weight will increase fuel consumption.

There may be occasions when you may not even need to use your car. If you're able to walk to a close by shop or to a local restaurant, why not take the opportunity to get some exercise and enjoy some fresh air. If you engage in functions with friends, you can also take turns driving around to cut down on gas. All of us probably would prefer to drive in our personal cars but if you want to cut emissions then there are sacrifices to be made.

By being persistent in your driving and researching ways to cut down on fuel consumption, you will feel better about helping the environment while still being able to drive.
