So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Trick Your Metabolism So That Your Weight Loss Won't Hit A Plateau

By Jonas Varig

If you're like the majority of the people out there, you will have tried a number of different diets and had a different degree of successes. You probably have lost excess weight, until you get to a particular point, and then you don't lose any more, whatever you do. The plateau thing is really fairly common--it is something that people deal with whatever diet plan they follow. There's no way of avoiding this plateau unless you trick your metabolism.

It is likely you have already experienced this plateau, which will normally end the diet plan with lots of frustration. This is an odd thing that happens to even the most successful dieters sometime near the third or fourth week of the diet they have selected. Until that point weight is coming off and then it just stops, and absolutely nothing works to keep the body slimming down. It's your body reacting to the changes you're putting it through. Your body switches into protection mode to avoid hunger, so it slows down your metabolic rate. This, then, will keep you from being able to shed more excess weight.

This is what causes people to think they're not capable of losing the weight they want, and they stop trying. At this stage they return to eating, and putting on their weight back plus even more than they lost usually. The way to stop this is to select a diet where your calories merely get shifted. What you want to do is eat a different number of calories every single day, which theoretically helps you deceive your metabolism. If this works on your body it is not going to enter "protective" mode. This will keep your body's metabolism working, as opposed to slowing down, and your body continues to lose weight. As soon as you reach this point, you have passed the plateau and your diet will keep working the way it was designed to.

It is really easy to integrate this type of plan into your everyday living. One of the more popular calorie shifting solutions is the 14 day method. This method goes for 14 days: you do typical things for the first eleven and then during the last three you eat whatever you desire. You move your foods during the day, tricking your metabolism, and for three day eat what you want, preventing the plateau. This could also help you from being frustrated with a strict diet regimen. You can actually keep on doing these 14 days over and over until you are content with your weight loss.

The 2 day plan is yet another way, where you eat as usual for one day, and the other day you cut your calories by 20% to 35%. You do this every couple of days for as long as it takes you to arrive at your weight loss goals. This is a program that ought to get your attention since it could be just what you need to pass your plateau and lose all of the weight you would like to lose.
