So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

How To Achieve A Contemporary Feel To Your Bedroom

By Frank Milltheodiy

Contemporary bedroom design is all about clean lines, simplicity, and subtle sophistication. Contemporary bedrooms makes use of clean lines and a minimalist approach to decorating. If you want to design your bedroom in the same style, here are a few pointers.

Selecting the right color palette is a crucial factor to achieving a contemporary look to your room. Grays, beige, whites and other neutral colors are commonly used to paint the walls of contemporary rooms. Still painting the walls with such neutral color isn't a hard and fast rule. If you do not like neutral colors for your walls, you can paint them with a bold color, just as long as you only use one color on the walls, and you use muted colors for everything else. If you use more than two colors on your walls, you'd end up with a visually noisy room.

As for your floors, hardwood and tiled surfaces are highly suggested. If you have to use a carpet, make sure to get one with a solid color.

You also have to be particular about the furniture pieces that go into your room. Avoid furniture pieces that are too ornate or have curved edges. As for the bed, buy a platform bed. If you have to buy one with a headboard, make sure the headboard is geometric and that the bed has no or low footboards. Fitted contemporary wardrobes are a good item to have in a minimalist bedroom.

Many of the contemporary wardrobes come with sliding doors that cover the entire span of the closet, which allows you to hide your stuff to give your room a tidier look. Avoid placing too much furniture in your room. Choose a few of your favorite furniture pieces, and make sure to have a good mix of big and small pieces to balance the look.

Your beddings, curtains, and pillow cases should be equally as simple. Pick solid colored bedding for a more sleek appearance. Your pillows and comforter should have no prints or patterns as well. Go for simpler window treatments like blinds and roman shades instead of drapes.

Refrain from over-accessorizing your room. Limit extraneous decorations to only one per surface to make sure that your room does not look cluttered. In contemporary rooms, geometric shapes in wall art and sculptures are very welcome. Instead of hanging several pieces of wall art, get one big painting instead. Keep in mind, in contemporary bedrooms, the blank spaces on your walls are just as essential as those areas that have decorative elements.
