Back in the 1980's four brothers from Marseille France came to America and started what is known today as the "GUESS" company. These four brothers were determined to live the American dream, and they sure did that.
It was in 1977 when they moved to California that they found the company known today as "GUESS". This name was establish in 1981 with seed or start up monies from a family who owned the Jordache denim empire, there names are the Nakash family.
During the 80's , GUESS took a bad turn for the worse, when all the news media came out with sweat shops and clothing companies using them for profit. Contractors were on the take , and this became a real struggle for Guess and many other apparel companies. By dealing with the problem quickly and constant monitoring of their contractors, the factories were monitored year round and the proper guidelines, were adhered too. Guess simply continued on, survived, and today have a great company.
Now, the Guess company created everything from watches, to sandals and shoes to clothe lines and more. The overall consumer view of Guess today is very good and you know you are getting a good "brand" when you can see the GUESS Label on their products.
The 20th anniversary of Guess occurred in the year 2004 and they celebrated with a special watch collection. If you can get your hand on a 2004 GUESS Watch, hold on to them because they did issued a special-edition Guess watch in limited supply.
In any GUESS store in the mall, you can find some cool lines of wallets, and in my opinion, some of the best manufactured wallets around today, especially for the price. Over the years the Guess Wallet has become very popular for both men and woman, as you can see online on the Guess website. The prices are really good too.
From Leather Wallets and Handbags and everything in between. Leather wallets and handbags can run from $100 to $255 dollars. The highest price we have seen online is $225 for a nice leather handbag. The wallets and handbags on the lower price end are really fantastic wallets as well. Non-leather wallets go for $38.00 dollars average.
