So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

By Fritz Wichmann

Do you know anything about nutrition? Is there a plan in place when it comes to nutrition? If so, have you ever thought about improving upon it? Are you getting the nutrition you need? If there is any doubt in your mind, study these tips.

Oatmeal is a healthy breakfast choice that will give you enough energy to start your day. The nutrients that are in oatmeal will help fill you up. They will also keep you from feeling hungry too early.

Eating garlic helps maintain a healthy body and can help keep you well. Garlic is an antibiotic that needs no prescription. Not only does it taste good, you can use it to season all kinds of dishes. Roasting garlic is another popular method of preparation. The roasting process mellows the flavor and softens the cloves, which are delicious when smeared on crusty bread.

Don't worship dessert. Just eat dessert two or three nights a week as a special treat.

Try a different kind of milk. Moving from 2% milk to 1% or skim milk keeps your consumption of nutrients the same while eliminating useless fat and calories. Choosing the milks that are not as fatty will aid your venture to a healthier and fitter body.

Travel gradually along the road to good nutrition. It's common to slip back into old eating habits quickly if you make a dramatic change from a bad diet. Make little changes over time and develop better habits. You can drink tea instead of soda or eat a piece of fruit instead of munching on chips. Once you are comfortable with the changes you have made, think about adding in some more. It won't take long for those baby steps to add up to a complete lifestyle change.

Cutting off your junk food addiction can be one of the toughest, but best, achievements on your journey to a healthy diet. Someone with a habit of eating unhealthy food gets used to the taste and convenience of their favorite snacks. People often crave these foods even months after leaving them behind. Fight those cravings by eating healthier snacks.

Most people have a hard time maintaining good nutrition when trying to lose weight. If you see some broccoli and some cake on a table in front of you, you probably want to eat the cake. After you have changed your diet, food will no longer be in control. If you eat nutritiously, you will feel better inside and out.

When planning your diet, always remember breakfast. Eating a healthy breakfast is important, as it helps to maintain your metabolism, and also provides your body with key nutrients.

As you can see, a diet doesn't just happen. You will need to devote time to learning the whys and hows in order to succeed. It also takes persistence and an ability to bounce back if you experience setbacks. By keeping the tips mentioned in this article in the forefront of your mind, you are more likely to be successful at losing weight.
