So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

All About Buying Crystal Jewelry

By Rebekah Alford

People through the ages have loved using crystal jewelry. Associated with magical powers and having the ability to cure illnesses and remove misfortune, crystals have natural beauty that is hard, clear and brilliant. Even if one does not believe in claims of these substances having exotic properties, they are always pleasant to receive as gifts or to buy for oneself.

How the item looks and its quality are two things that are to be the topmost in your mind when buying crystal jewelry. If you are buying such items for the first time, let this quick guide aid you in your purchase so that you are fully satisfied with how you spend your money.

When you look for accessories of this type, you will be spoilt for choice when it comes to color. Esoteric knowledge will tell you that rosy crystals are good for a person's relationships with others, especially their significant other. The ones that are blue will alleviate sorrow and make for a more stable period in your life, while their yellow counterparts are said to bring good fortune when it comes to money.

You may or may not believe in the magical properties of crystals mentioned above, but if color coordination is important to you, you are in luck with accessories of this kind. You can find all sorts of colors, and many shades and tints as well. For example, yellow is not just one flat color: it can be a deep golden yellow or a very cheery light one. You have crystals ranging from deep royal purple to more feminine shades of mauve.

Of course, it is not just color that you have to look to. The clarity of each piece before you is also important. This means that the piece should be free of all scratches, internal or external. These scratches may give the piece some character, but it is a defect rather than an addition.

Smoothness is an attribute that good crystals have. Make sure that the color is similar throughout and no impurities are embedded in the piece that you decide to buy.

The crystal may be just fine, but if you are going to purchase it in the form of premade accessories, you also have to see to the workmanship. Make sure that the form of the crystal is enhanced because of the metals that is has been paired with, and see that the findings used in the necklaces, earrings etc. Are also durable.

Next, to help you in choosing what you should buy, it is a good idea to take along a trusty friend who can help you pick items based on what he or she knows about your sense of fashion. Make sure that the crystals are not oversized, but also see that they are not too small to be noticed at all. You could go for a cluster of them, as this looks pretty impressive.

Other than this, you should read up on the prices that you can be expected to pay for what you purchase, so that you do not end up paying more than you should. It is easy to check prices online, as a lot of crystal jewelry is now sold over the internet.
