So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Galaxy Camera Preview

By Katherine Martina

Samsung at present unveiled the 1st genuine lightweight camera/smart device hybrid - the Samsung Galaxy Camera, with 3G/4G online connectivity and also Wi-Fi (which sets it aside from Wi-Fi-only rivals like recently-proclaimed Nikon Coolpix S800c).

Camera manufacturers have already been seeing product sales in their light-weight cameras fall for a long time now, challenged by a new technology of camera-equipped cell phones. As the photographic specification of phones get better, there's less dependence on most casual photographers to carry a focused camera, and if you're in the market of selling lightweight cameras, this is a serious problem. Nonetheless Samsung perceives it contains a resolution. Go on a WB850F camera, as well as a Galaxy SIII smart phone, plus... mix them.

We've been discussing to Samsung representatives for weeks in regards to the idea of a camera functioning the Android Operating System, plus the Korean manufacturer's early plans were the target of a lot more than one sensitive briefing during a trip to Seoul a few months ago. Ever since the wraps are off, the ultimate specs is approximately in step with what we predicted - an adaptable, consumer-level video camera operating 'full strength' Android and also provided with both 3G/4G connection beyond the now-standard (for Samsung) Wi-Fi. A 1.4GHz quad-core processor wraps up the photo and ought to deliver enough 'grunt' to have everything operate nice and efficiently.

The Galaxy Camera is a 16.3MP lightweight camera having a 4.8in LCD touchscreen operating the Android operating system. It runs the most recent iteration of Android (4.1 - often called 'Jelly Bean'), and you will be available in two variants - a 3G + Wi-Fi type along with a 4G + Wi-Fi variation (carrier and thus local information and facts TBC). This will make it the very first 'connected camera' to suggest more than just Wi-Fi connection.

Semantics aside, the Galaxy Camera is tremendously sizable. It's the closest thing we've seen to a true camera/phone hybrid, and also good photographic technical specs it contains a significant number of DNA from Samsung's well-set up line of touch screen phones. The important thing is the addition of a great central processor, and 3G/4G connectivity. Meaning that just like a smart phone, the Galaxy Camera can communicate with the world wide web at any place that there's mobile coverage, and should have adequate power to function software and search the internet with out experiencing sluggish. An 'Auto Cloud Backup' element immediately saves images to Samsung's AllShare cloud storage service the moment they really are considered - one more benefit of 'always on' online connectivity.

Once we chatted to Sunhong Lim - VP Sales & Marketing in Samsung's Digital Imaging division way back in March, he predicted that 'once the cloud computing era actually dawns, a non-connected unit will be meaningless'. The Galaxy Camera is designed by Samsung and the best step yet in this direction.
