So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Merry Christmas - Merry Christmas - Merry Christmas

Uncomplicated Stuff A lot of People Undervalue on the Streets

By Darnell Austria

This may seem like outdated information and facts and common sense, but ignoring it is increasingly widespread by itself.

It never hurts to re-educate ourselves on important information that many of us may have taken for granted or pushed aside every step in minimizing associated risk is an excellent one.

We'll begin with those painted lines on the roads we run over; the truth is, somebody actually thought about coming up with a method that really works. Let's begin with the usual 2 lane roadway; we'll look at details from our lane of travel. If you'll notice, you will discover the middle outlines (regardless of whether broken or solid to show passing is permitted) painted yellow plus your exterior markings or shoulder/edge of street lines white. Remember that depending on the roadway, you may possibly not have the white outlines, and in some cases on non-urban roads, you may not see any painted markings. With that being said, you must think of some extra awareness of traffic from both of those directions, but the normal two-lane road has yellow markings in the middle splitting the roads and white markings in a solid line will mark tip of the pavement area.

A tiny point of information regarding the solid white line marking tip of pavement/shoulder on the lanes in your path: these are also often called fog line. In case of poor field of vision, you'll be able to go along with these markings, and they're going to guide you to and off the following accessible exit.

Corners, stop lines, and crosswalks in some cases create a little confusion as to where you should halt. In the event you arrive at an intersection or position where there is a stop sign together with a drawn white line, you might want your motor vehicle halted right before the edge not over it. Now if it's a corner which has a marking but doesn't have a line, you have to stop a few feet before the corner. You can also find spots in which you will find a painted crosswalk but doesn't have a stop sign, once again, you must halt before the paint. Now, should you arrive at a corner with just a stop sign and no drawn crosswalk or stop line but there's a footpath at the corner, you need to stop prior to the corner. This may look complicated, but just keep this basic rule in mind: if you aren't totally sure, stop with lots of room so there's no question or grounds to have a traffic violation.

Another sort of indicator on the road is the yellow diamond-shaped road warning sign notifying someone to roadway conditions ahead. These could tell you of forthcoming crossing points, corners (with recommended safe rates of speed), or some other road cautions (hills, grades, slippery when wet, etc). Many state DOTs will probably install these kind of indications approximately 175 feet right before the area of the point; this would provide you with enough time to adjust, given you're not exceeding beyond the indicated speed limit.

Last but not least, with regards to speed limits, there's something to be aware of. First, it isn't legal to go beyond the speed restriction while passing another automobile, that justification will not help you in the courtroom. In relation to indicated speed limits in construction areas and specific zones, the speed indicated is made for the entire time the area is in place, not only while construction is carried out. You have to follow the indicated construction speed restriction until the warning sign is removed, even if it appears as though all the work has been finished for a while.
