So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Interesting History Of Grenson Shoes

By Gray Wizard

Mr. William Green was the man behind Grenson Shoes and getting the company started. His father passed away early in William's childhood, and his mother, who had an exceptional talent for making shoes, taught her young son this trade.

The company was originally called William Green and Son. It quickly became successful as news of the high quality of these shoes spread throughout the United Kingdom. These shoes were not just stylish but practical and durable as they were made with expert craftsmanship.

The Greens Yard factory opened it's doors in 1874. No longer would these works of art be known as Green and Son but instead changed into the memorable Grenson. Business was so great that a much larger area for factory distributions and making was needed and so Mr. Green moved everything to Queen Street were it is still home today and gaining even more success.

These shoes are made with a Goodyear Welting process which was created in England in the 1800's and changed shoe making forever here. This led to more durable soles as they do not go through only one department to be made but four different ones before completion.

One pair of shoes made with the welted process takes a lot longer than in cheaper industry shoe factories. Three weeks is approximately how long it takes for each pair to be made, whereas other cheap factories can make a pair in about ten to fifteen minutes. But these quick made versions will only last maybe a year and Grenson's will last many years.

Stores are located all over and it is easy to find one near you. If you want shoes which are perfect for your feet then get them custom made which they offer too. Measurements will be taken and you will end up with the most comfortable footwear you have ever owned.

The Sid is another elegantly stylish design. Sometimes these are called Royal Brogue but these have strapping wing tips that reach all the way to the back. These are something a gentleman would be sporting today. More and more men are going back to dressing elegantly and these are a great way to get started in a new suave look.

The proof that Grenson Shoes has been around since the 1800's and is still going strong should answer any doubts you may have about spending a little extra money on a pair of their shoes. They have so many styles from classic to sporty and more.
