So This Is Christmas

Merry Christmas is such an infectious feeling I like to feel that way all year around.

So if you are visiting just before Christmas, just after Christmas or even here on Christmas day I am sure you will find something of interest for you and in the spirit of Christmas.

It may be said that Christmas is no longer a celebration but this must be spoken by people that have never had trouble closing their eyes on Christmas Eve in an expectation of what maybe left for them on the carpet under the tree.

I continue to look forward to the surprise on my Grandchild's faces to this day at Christmas events.

Tips In Personalizing Monogrammed Linens For Newlyweds

By Edwina Heuser

Because of the surge of creativity at present, personalized items are now given more appreciation. Women who prefer a classic touch in their homes dress up rooms with embroidered linens. Those who go on yacht trips even have customized linens made. Meanwhile, when it comes to giving gifts, a set of monogrammed linens is a perfect symbolism for the togetherness of newlyweds.

How can you identify a monogram? It is usually a symbol made up of initials, the first letter of a name for instance. In design, it is a good representation of the beauty of minimalism done the classic way. This is what makes it a perfect inclusion in a wedding, wherein the mood is of pure sentimentality and quiet poise. So to keep up with the meaningfulness of this event, here is a guideline to personalizing those linens.

Concern yourself first with positioning the initials the right way. The shared family name of the would be married couple stays in the middle while initials on either side should be that of the bride and the groom respectively. When viewed from perspective, this is the perfect symbol of union and marriage.

The letters of the initials should be in capital form. Using three initials is already a standard, and usually, the one in the middle is bigger compared to the other two. However, if you are meaning to give a linen that will grant the couple joint ownership, settling with the initial of their married name is fine.

The font used for a monogram matters very much. The cursive style is a default choice because it looks great in embroidery. However, if you are keen on details and you have any hint of what the couple might like, go for it to keep the look very close to who they are.

Should the bride wish to keep her own family name by hyphenating it, a cipher pattern can be used when monogramming. This way, the initials of the last names of the couple are fused. Ideally, letters that look great together are W and V or E and Y.

This guideline aside, you also have additional options for your gift giving. If you are the type who likes to give a package containing his and hers items, each can have a monogram of the name of the person and not the combined initials. This way, a sense of ownership is maintained.

Your choice of colors is also very essential, so be guided with what will work well for most homes like white. If you want to steer clear of this generic choice to make the gift as personalized as possible, do your research. What is important is that you are also able to give them the comfort that they need with your choice of fabric for the monogrammed linens.
